Are you a scroller or a page-turner?

Post by elisathelvarik »

I love reading on my phone and on my iPad, but I cannot stand reading them when it's in page-turning mode. Don't get me wrong! I love reading physical books and turning the pages, but for some reason, I don't like doing it for ebooks. I love reading books by just scrolling down. Any thoughts? :techie-studyingbrown:

I love turning because it helps me concentrate on the page .😃😃.

:techie-studyingbrown: :techie-studyingbrown: Keep concentrating like that! I love to hear how other people stay focused when they read. I feel like I do so much reading online (articles, textbook pdfs, etc.) that I am so used to scrolling. It's just my way :happy-smileyflower:

I'm a 'press the down / left / right / up arrow' type of guy  , depending on if I'm full screen or not in Calibre / Apple Books. The down and up scroll two pages at once, left and right shift one at a time.

For me, it depends on the app I'm using. If I'm using kindle or ibooks, I love turning the pages but if I'm reading a PDF on my computer, then I love to scroll.

Kindle does the abracadabra refresh and I don't have much of a choice but to deal with it.

I am a scroller. I would love to be a page turner for the continuity between that and traditional books, but I do so much online for work and college that I am just used to scrolling. :techie-studyingbrown:

I was used to exclusively scroll when I read ebooks on my phone but since I got my Kindle I "turn" the pages

If it is an e-book then of course scrolling is an easier option as it doesn't distract your flow and attention of the story.

I am definitely a page turner. It is more like reading a regular book. I tend to scroll too far and then get lost.

I'm definitely a scroller. For me scrolling gives the book continuity and feels much better than turning the page. Turning the page I like to reserve for actual books.

I am definitely a turner, when I'm scrolling down I just think that the chapter or text will never end. For some reason while turning pages it makes me think that I go faster. I guess I like turning better because I have always tried to read books physically rather than online but seems interesting that other people are scrollers!

I would prefer page turning over scrolling as that gives me the feel of they physical books and at the same time with every turn of page i can determine a milestone is complete.

I am scroller. Scrolling gives the that sense of continuity.
