Which e-reader or app?

Post by beckyleeh »

I have an iPad and a Nook (first gen). I typically use the Kindle app on the iPad for reading ebooks - and I have the Nook app (which I've never actually used but won't delete). Still, I haven't been able to let go of my Nook. I secretly desire an actual Kindle but won't admit that to my husband since the iPad does the job just fine. Which e-reader is the best? I subscribe to BookBub to receive great deals for both the Nook and the Kindle and find I can get much better deals for the Kindle.

I do not own a Nook. When I read eBooks, I use my Kindle Fire. I think using either a Nook or Kindle would work perfectly fine for reading. I also subscribe to BookBub and have always found good deals with the Kindle.

I've traditionally used a Kindle Touch or Kindle Paperwhite for an ereader, but I've started using a tablet with an app lately. The only advantage to the ereader is its having a better battery life, but that's not enough to justify it for me. I prefer a 7" to 8" tablet with the Nook app, but I still use the Kindle app for non .epub books.

My daughter has a Kindle Fire, which is easily worth the investment, and I use a Verizon Ellipsis with the apps. The only thing I don't like about using an iPad is that it's just too big for my comfort. The mini would be perfect though.

I started with the 1st gen Kindle Fire and now I use the free Kindle app on my iPad. I don't use the Nook app because I started with Kindle but I've also used iBooks occasionally. I love BookBub because it sends me lists based on my preferences of free or discounted books on Amazon.

I always prefer the Kindle app on my android phone. It runs nicely and doesn't ruin my battery life. As a partial argument for kindle vs. Hardcopy, I still would choose a solid physical book but the Kindle makes it possible to almost always have a book and you. What's even better is for those that have libraries that use the overdrive ebook library, those books can be downloaded to the Kindle for free.

I have an iPad, and even though it comes with the iBooks app, I prefer the kindle app. Though the two apps have a lot in common, I find the kindle app to have more helpful features. One thing I really love about the kindle app is that it has a feature where it explains who each character is, and their importance to the story. For books that have a lot of characters (and for people who don't have the best memory) it makes it easier to keep track of who is who. Lastly, I am currently reading a book from the Victorian times and I am not familiar with a lot of the terms used in the books. The kindle app has a built in dictionary that makes it easy to quickly learn what the term means.

I have a Kindle DX, Kindle Fire 1st Generation and I have the Kindle App on my phone, computer and iPad. I also bought a Kindle Touch for my daughter when she was 13 and she is 16 now. We love our Kindles and read on them all the time. My 6 year old daughter wants a Kindle of her own too.

We've owned several generations of Kindles, and while I love my Kindle Fire for its color, having a reasonable browser, and ability to run apps, I find the Paperwhite to be the best for reading books. It's easy on the eyes, is easily used in any level of lighting (even very bright sunlight -- no glare), and the battery life is exceptionally long.

I don't think anyone has heard of this but I use the app Moon+Reader on my Android. I don't have a tablet or e-reader, I used to have one but I didn't like it very much but my dad did so he is the only one who really uses it. I also don't have an amazon account so that means no kindle app!

I've got a Kobo ereader that I've had for a couple of years, plus I also have the kindle app downloaded onto my iPad. I love both the Kobo and the Kindle so it's hard to choose which one is best.

I recently downloaded the Kobo app and love it, even though I'm still new to it and probably don't even know all the functions available to further improve my reading experience. After using the app I'm now considering replacing my current ereader with a KoboGlo reader.

I used to only read my ebooks on my Kindle paperwhite but just last week I bought a samsung 8 inch Tablet and I absolutely love it. The words and pages and just everything is so much crisper. And can look stuff up online not just limited to only reading books on it
