Audiobooks are wonderful.

They can travel with you, walk with you, jog with you, etc. I mean that voucher is really cool, I wish you'd give audiobooks a chance and make use of that voucher. :)

Honestly thou, if the narrator lacks feeling or emotions when he/she reads the content, it won't be satisfying.

I can see the appeal of audio books but for me there’s a kind of disconnect that happens when listening to a book vs reading. Reading a book is much more immersive for me to the point that the world falls away and I’m almost living the story. Listening to books has me feeling more like an observer than an active participant which can be a good thing if I’m multitasking and need a little entertainment while I’m busy :)

Hello! It's great that you have a voucher for audiobooks! Listening to audiobooks can offer a unique and enjoyable experience compared to reading. While the satisfaction might vary from person to person, many find audiobooks engaging because they bring stories to life through skilled narration, inflections, and emotions conveyed by the narrators. It's a bit like being told a story.

Personally, I've tried audiobooks and found them quite enjoyable for times when I'm on the go, whether it's during a commute, exercising, or just relaxing. The narrators' voices can add a new dimension to the story and make it feel more immersive. Give it a try with an open mind, and you might discover a new way to enjoy books that fits into your lifestyle seamlessly. Feel free to explore different genres and see what resonates with you. Happy listening!

I have never listened to audiobooks before because I have a disability. Im a visual person. I love reading but awhile ago I remember watching an interview with JK Rowling about the Harry Potter series and at the end of the interview she read an excerpt from one of her books and listening to her read it out loud I instantly fell in love and enjoyed it so much more.
So, since then I have wanted to listen to someone read to me but i wanted to read the book visually at the same time. I feel like it would be nice to have someone to read to me for a change and let me hear it in their voice rather than my own. I dont read out loud but i hear it in my head.. if you know what i mean.
So, i would like to know if audio books read out word for word from the actual book??

Certainly, audiobooks are a lifesaver during hectic days when reading isn't feasible. They're perfect for multitasking during commutes or household chores. Nevertheless, the narrator's voice and performance can significantly impact the overall experience, making some audiobooks more challenging to enjoy.

I prefer audiobooks for self-help books and instructive books. I can listen to them while I'm at other menial tasks. For novels, paperbacks or eBooks are the best.

Audio books are not my favorite, but when I am on the go and can listen to them then, why not. They are a good time saver.

Personally, I dislike audiobooks. There are times when I need to reread a sentence or a paragraph. It's difficult, if not impossible, to do that on an audiobook.

Also, audiobooks take away the fun of picking up new words.

Audiobooks can help improve your comprehension and vocabulary. Hearing new words — independent of or in combination with reading them — can significantly help with comprehension and vocabulary, especially for kids and second-language learners.human resources specialist, part time job

I think audio books are great as long as you pick a book you are interested in and you have to be able to pay attention. It’s easy to get lost in the story if you stop listening for even a minute. You can always rewind the track and listen again but that can get annoying.
