A lot ! Be it a fiction, nonfiction, textbook or whatever.. I am used to highlighting the points I like or the ones which are important. And it is much more easier to highlight in e-books as you get a lot of options.

I love using the highlighter and color coding the different things I find (plot development, grammar mistakes, etc.) in ebooks, but I can't bring myself to highlight in a physical copy.

For online textbooks, I highlight *everything* because they normally compile all the highlighted parts into an easy to read notebook. For other books, I primarily use the bookmark feature. I don't use anything for physical books since I usually read those in one sitting.

I've never been a fan of highlighting. I only do it now especially when I have to review books but if there's no need to, then I don't at all.

I use both of them. The highlight is useful as that can be imported to other platforms like Goodreads and also you can export them into a quotes and post on Instagram.

Yeah. For OBC reviews, I have a system where different colors of highlighters allow me to mark different things in the book: swearing, erotic content, noteworthy quotes, and errors. In regular reading, I mostly just use yellow highlighting to remember any phrase or sentence I like in particular. Or anything I might want to come back to later if it's nonfiction. I also use highlighting to mark my exact place when I get up, and then remove the highlighting when I come back. It's an easy way for me to not just save my page I was on, but remember my exact place, and I like that. In physical books I do something similar with Post-It notes. Is it weird that I always want to remember the exact sentence I read last? :D

I use my Kindle Paperwhite for a lot of my reading, especially for book reviewing. For the purpose I really love the highlighting feature provided by Amazon through their kindle readers. I also really like the bookmark feature as well, but to be honest I feel like its a little more complicated to manoveour. Also, once you've highlighted something its saved into your notes so that makes it easier to access and annotate.

Sometimes I make bookmarks in places that I would like to return to. And I consider the selection of text with a marker in the book blasphemy.

I haven't ever used the underlines. I just use the highlights- all errors I highlight orange, profanity is pink, bookmark erotic scenes and note how many pages they take and how often they happen, and anything I want to make sure is in my reviews was highlighted blue. There is a flashcard option that I have experimented with. I put a character and what I liked or disliked about them in them and sometimes a brief outline on the chapters but found it was a lot easier to just type a note at the end of the chapter. Series I keep my review and attach a url to the book so I can make notes on whether the books mesh well or not to determine whether they would make good standalone or if they required reading in order.

I'm not much of a highlight/bookmark person, but using the kindle tools makes reviews much easier. I can mark every error or note every thought regarding a section. Ebooks naturally save your place, so I don't use the bookmark feature. Amazon kindle specifically allows you to pull up a list of your notes and highlights, which adds another layer of organization.

These functions help me a lot. I don't have to remember page numbers or something that caught my attention anymore since I can simply highlight or bookmark it!

I actually prefer using my digital ebook reader for highlighting because I do so hate to mark up my hardcopies.
Another great thing with the e-reader is the different colours I get to choose from.
I don't really use the bookmark feature though, because once I highlight a spot I can always go back to it so win-win!
