The characters, in my opinion, share similar characteristics of he same time the author was still able to make each of them unique will their voices and characteristics.

I agree. The characters were a lot of similar and that took away some level of variety of personalities from the book. It didn't take a lot away from the overall quality of the book though.

The characters weren't much different from each other and it spoke of the volume of characterization carried out by the author.

Although the characters were similar in their desire to control and other things, they were definitely different in so many ways. Moreover, I do not think that characters should be put in a one-size-fit all box. Cole saying 'da' is definitely not out of character for me. He should be allowed to pronounce words whatever way he wished to. That's what makes him an individual and not a one clone made out of a particular mold.

I feel like the characters' rough personalities were intentional because of the situations they were in and the issues they were dealing with. I think there are unique features in every character and the similarities do not deduct from the storyline.

The similarities in character lend a certain familiarity to the characters. It made the book a bit more comfortable for me.

All main characters were similar in a way but they had their unique attributes. Moreover, I had no problem with the way Cole pronounced his words.

I think the characters are all similar and rough around the edges because of their shared experiences. They are similar ina way that makes sense, at least to me.

I agree with what you said above. They were just too similar. I wish the author gave each character totally different traits

I would have preferred if the author have made each role of the characters distinct from one another to avoid some kind of confusion.

They were rough around the edges, sure, but I think it was for a good purpose. Each of them fit into a team of misfits. None of them had a family or home to rely on, so they all counted on each other. In a way, it was necessary because it contributed to the overall storyline of the characters finding trustworthy relationships in others; something they didn't have before.

They all lacked trust in others. But I honestly don't blame them since they are persecuted by people who think they are abominations. They also run into the same danger with other abnormals. Cole's character seems to take over the entire story, which I found took the focus of the story away from the original introductory characters. I think their coping skills is what caused them to stand out from one another, especially since Monty appears to be more accepting of everyone.

The characters are underdeveloped, which is one thing I will say about them. I have a hard time identifying who is speaking.

I got to the conclusion after finishing the novel that all the characters do share a personality. Choosing a favorite character was challenging for this reason. Though I still choose Cole as my favorite character. I think the author also meant to emphasize a particular point of view.

They were alike and different in some ways. They all have past issue which make them hard around the edge and angry at the world.
