That depends solely on nature and the existing physical and mental condition of the individual. Most individuals do prefer saving money as much as possible for the days to come.

Some older people do spend more than younger people. Most of them have the thought that they've spent money paying tuition, school fees etc. and feel like they should spend more money on themselves.

I don't think the old ones spendpre than the young ones. Although, it depends but theyouths at that age have so much responsibility so they are always spending more.

I don't think it's because they're going to spend more during that time. I think it's generally because, old age comes with a lot of inabilities. And they hardly gain employment as a result.
So, it's safer to save for retirement when they're younger and stronger.

Maybe if they have family, especially a big one, they might spend more and more as they get older.

No, I do not think old people spend more. Why saving for retirement is paramount is because at that stage you do not work again or you work lesser than you used to.

In my own opinion, I think the youths spend more than the old because they are still dependent on their guardians for their basic needs but the old spend with prudence since they are the only ones responsible for their financial needs.

Old people spend more than youth because their expenses are inevitable, such as sickness and other care, but youth can control their expenses because their expenses can be avoided.

To the eyes of many it may seem as though the elderly community require less resources but looking at how they no longer have a means of earning one would reconsider. I think it is wise to save in advance for ones old age.

Youths who have money coming in like any old person would spend more. Old people sometimes also spend like youths if they don't plan there lives well.

It is quite unconventional to posit that old people spend more than youths as it is expected at that stage of their lives that they have attained a level of self-control and tamed a lot of their desires. So I do not agree that old people spend more than youths.

I don’t think that’s entirely accurate. Older people might spend more on medication then they spend now but other expenses depend on lifestyle and might not necessarily be too much.

I think the elderly have to spend more money on health, and lifestyle than when they were younger. Though the lifestyle might be debatable. Couple this with the fact that they are likely retired, and I feel they are going to have more of a deficit than when they were younger.

In my opinion, young people spend more money than old people. I think so because the needs of a young person are more than that of an old person. Young people want to constantly wear new clothes, have a new car, a new phone. On weekends, they want to have fun, travel, spend time with friends, which is associated with more expenses.

I don't think the old spend more because
by then they have fewer jobs and depend more on their children and some also depend on pension.
