I think it is incredible that the author was able to add ove with all the other strong and heavy themes such as police brutality, injustice, betrayal , etc I can relate in a virtual sense because my fellow people are going through war rightnow.

The themes in the book include police brutality, violence, war, and so on. but the one that seems obvious to me is police brutality. The police abused their power in a bid to exercise their authority which made them end up being brutal.

The most suitable theme are police brutality, racism, love interwoven with violence, and determination to survive. I think these themes will suitable if chosen.

The book does touch on many themes because I tried to capture the turmoil of the times as well as the growth and turmoil of the main characters thrust into a very uncertain future.

Most themes actually portray the perfect depiction of war. Betrayal, love, and determination are some of the underlying themes!

I think for me the most prominent one was police violence and I could also not miss the misogyny as a feminist.

The themes I observed in this book are police brutality in the name of national interest, student activism, racism, war and love.

Another theme throughout the book is music. In 1970, music was the social media of the generation. All the chapter titles and songs mentioned in the book were contemporary to the timeframe of the book. Listen to some of the lyrics of those songs for a better idea of what the youth were thinking and experiencing.

I was fascinated by the way the book handled politics. It was cast in a very realistic light.

There are a ton of themes in this book! Police brutality, institutional corruption, getting out of college and into the real world, and daring to do the right thing even at great personal cost. I particularly connected to the theme of trying to make a positive difference right where you're at. You might not be able to change the world and things might not go how you wanted them to, but you can still keep trying.

I found themes of activism, government insensitivity and love in this book. My favourite though is activism.
