Nope, there is no justification for that gruesome act. No matter what children should be protected. The leaders preparing them for war should fight instead.

If I had the power, I would end this menace. And no, I do not find reasons with the government for drafting young kids for war?

I don't see how this could even remotely be a good decision. Not only is a child's brain not fully formed, the damage of drafting a child on their psyche is vast. Aside from throwing bodies in front of the enemy, what could possibly be a good reason for this?

I don't think anyone wants to see children partake in war. They are victims and not perpetrators of violence. However, our concept of 'child soldier' cannot be ruled by western sensibilities alone and must also include those who see military draft as a means to escape community violence, lack of physical and social resources, and an overall feeling of helplessness.

I dont think anyone should forced to do anything against their will. It's unreasonable to draft kids for war, there should be other options.

Kids whose senses are not fully developed shouldn't be made or added as war fighters when there is a war. They aren't full aware of their surroundings so they should be left out. My opinion though

This was the only part of the book I didn't agree with. I can't even imagine seeing kids on a battlefield. These mistakes were made by adults and as such should handle them.

Hey Everyone
My name is Neii Jourdain. To answer the question that was asked, I would definitely put an end to kids being drafted for war. War breeds trauma, and death, and may change a person's life forever. Just as we wouldn't expect a seed to bear fruit in the planting process, we shouldn't expect kids to be okay to go to war and process everything they will see and experience. Children are the future, they are meant to be taught and nurtured, loved and understood not used as bait to guarantee a country's victory in war.

I might offend a few people on this one but I think if there is a war then it'll surely come to everyone. So it's better that the kids fight and die than die without fighting.

Irregardless of anything, kids must never be drafted into war. We’ve seen situations, in movies and in reality, the effect of war on kids.

In my opinion, dragging the younger generations into the political squabbles they have no part in is hugely inappropriate. On the other hand, as a South African I am well aware how much force the youth has in those political fights. So, some middle ground should be established. Do not draft the young forcefully, allow them to volunteer their services for their country. It will help build the solidarity needed to groom future leaders.

Kids are the leaders of tomorrow, exposing them to danger is same as exposing ones future to danger. Is should not be negotiable, at any point, to expose kids to war by any government. My take.

It shouldn't be a question for kids to be involved in war, whether voluntarily or involuntarily. When overpowered, better surrender.

As horrible as drafting kids may be, it all lies in the decision of draftees. To add to that I don't think someone who is beyond 17 years is a kid anymore, he or she knows what is right or wrong.

The legal drinking age in America is 21 years, but somehow an eighteen year old is old enough to fight in a government sanctioned war. It makes no sense to me and should be stopped. Children should be children. The adults who support the war should be the only ones getting drafted, in my view.
