I liked that the book got me thinking as to how much courage it takes to stand up against injustices in the real world. Instead of complaining that something needs to change, one should do something about it. The book taught me that if a cop does his duty honestly, he puts his life at risk. It was an amazing book that I would like my friends to read

I honestly could not get into this book at all. I found it to be disjointed, and lacking flow. I tried very hard to like this book, but the longer I read it the worse it got in my opinion. I think that it could be fixed and the idea behind the book is great. However the execution is not there yet.
My main issue is the flow, the author just jumps right in. That can work if they were to follow up with character building, with an explanation of what is going on, the context, however that was not there.

The Vietnam War may not be a popular topic for historical fiction, in my opinion, but this book masterfully uses the war's events to convey its underlying issues. I give this book four stars altogether because of the strong characterization.

I enjoyed reading this book, and I gave it four stars in my review. I found it to be very realistic, and quite relevant. I enjoyed the story and the characters and the pacing was perfectly done. I'd definitely love to read more from the author.

Can I just say "WOW!" I'm so used to reading novels about the Vietnam War actually being in Vietnam. Rush definitely gave his audience a breath of fresh air with this one. The power behind the virtue of right and wrong in this novel is phenomenal. Absolutely a must read!

I've always been a fan of historical fiction, and boy did this deliver! The author has a very unique writing style, and he develops the characters in such a great manner. You notice the way their stances shake in their dialogues, and the entirety of the book was such a good example of "show, not tell".

I’m planning to read this book. Although, I’ve never ventured into the genre of historical fiction before but both, the blurb and the book cover seem pretty compelling. The character of Steve seems intriguing as well.

The concept of this book is a sensitive and yet realistic view of the Vietnam war. Every character has their aired perspective of their perceived reality and their mistakes and habits are very relatable and expressed. The book cover seems like the perfect fit as it represents one of the books major themes war and protest and so the 4 stars rating is well deserved.

I gave the book four out of four stars. Overall, it was well written and the story flowed at a good pace. I was just 5 years old in 1970, however, I remember hearing about the war on television and the radio. I enjoy reading historical fiction as a genre, and stories from this time period are of particular interest to me. There was still so much racial prejudice and overt sexism. It was a time of great unrest.

I have rated this book 3 out of 4 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. You could never predict what was the next move. Lots of vulgarisms and high level of sexuality but it kept you glued to the book.

This book stood out to me because it captured the true essence of the characters. The author did not cut any corners; the true feelings and intent of the characters were displayed. I like that the young people were willing to question the war and the sacrifices that they were being called upon to make, rather than blindly following instructions to go fight a war they knew very little about. This books touches on so many lessons: love, loyalty, betrayal, forgiveness, remaining steadfast and honorable in the face of adversity, just to name a few. I would recommend this read to young adults and also older readers. It covers the dynamism and challenges of a young generation being asked to fight in a war they don't support. It also covers relationships between family and friends. I believe everyone who reads this book can learn something from it.

The best part of the book is that it opens up your mind and helps you visualise the 70s and to compare it with the present. Questions begin to suddenly pop up. What triggered the vicious cycle of war, drug addiction, and corruption? Do young heroes like Steve exist? Shall we rely on such heroes to weed out corruption? Which generation should be doing it? is it fair to drag students and fresh graduates into this mess. I read the book and kept drifting in and out of the dilemma in answering the questions and more. The book is a challenge to the American society.
I didn't quiet like the idea of creating a Role Model in Steve. He had so much to do being a lawyer. I wouldn't want passionate young men to be inspired by Steve and even think of attempting a crusade like Steve did. It wasn't his business. The Politicians, bureaucrats, Military Generals, and the Mafia were responsible for this mess. Let them wash the dirty laundry.
The book is a Historical fiction spiced up with Romance. I recommend it for the young graduates both male and female and ofcourse the adults with a cautionery note to the young adults not to indulge in heroism like Steve.
Wild World deserves a rating of 4 out of 4 stars not only because of the story but also because it is professionally edited.

I like this book very much. Steve is one of the reason I like the story. Everyone misunderstood his actions and he lost friends along the way but he never stop trying to do what is right. The cover itself would have drawn people to try to read it. The author descriptive writing style is incredible and makes me able to actually picture what is happening. There is nothing I dislike about this book and I happily recommends it to readers who enjoy historical fictions book. I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because of the errors I found.

I love books that teaches a little history. Wild World was set against the backdrop of the Vietnam War. There was a lot of protest from the younger generation which led to many marches. Some were deadly. There are lovemaking, profanities and violence so its for mature adults.
