When I was still halway I said that most likely my review would be 4 out of 4 stars but now that I've reached the end of the book I dropped one star. I was ok with the over-sexualization of women in the book since it seemed a good representation of the era. But what bothered me was the over-sexualization coming from the narrator itself who is not even a character. However, still a great and enjoyable read.

I find this book sincere and to-the-point concerning issues that stem from the political class making life miserable for the common man.

When governments refuse to make the right decisions, the governed must come out to speak against the rot. The book is also an eye opener on wars and its horrible effects, as it spotlights the Vietnamese war. For me, it proves a point that I've always known and believed: there is no benefit in wars... It is a good read.

Wow, I just read the official review for this book and it completely convinced me to read it. It sounds like this novel addresses some deeply rooted societal issues. I find so much value in historical fiction books, where it may not have exactly happened in history but it still pulls from very real events that occurred and sheds a light on what was going on at the time. Very excited to read this book!

This book felt like a memoir of the author's young life and how he experienced life in the 1970s. I admired Steve's confidence into trying to change the system for the better. He was a hero who no one acknowledged not even Roxy.

While this book seems like a great read that will make you think and feel deeply, I believe that, since I'm a very sensitive person, is a pass for me. The war theme always triggered me. Of course, that doesn't make this book any less interesting.

I found this book to be quite entertaining and insightful. The realism incorporated into both the plot and the characters was most impressive. This book truly deserves a full star rating.

I have read a lot of books on the Vietnam war but this is quite unique. Its not written from a military point of view and I loved this about it. The book also shows the role of activism in advocating for change.

This is my second book about the Vietnam war and I can say that I'm really impressed. Steve's determination to make a difference in an otherwise corrupt system is one of the many lessons I learnt from this book. The author's unique writing style along with his characterization is very commendable and it's worth rating 4 out of 4 stars.

I still do not see the reason for that war.
I'm glad Steve was able to make a difference in the end.
The other character was a coward to have committed suicide.

This book book is really fascinating. I was caught up by the author's writing style. The deaths, war scenes, and tragedies in this book caused me to be emotionally unstable. This book is a 4 out of 4 star

I think a four out of four stars is very appropriate for this book. I was able to connect well with the characters and understand them well. I did not dislike any part of this book and I found the book very educative.

As someone who likes war movies, this book stands out for me. I like how the characters were carefully developed. Also, I love Steve's determination to make a change! The book gave me so interesting accounts of the Vietnam war which I never knew before. Personally, I will rate it 4 out of 4 stars. The author did an amazing job.

Steve was amazing in this book.his decision to make difference in a difficult situations was awesome. I believe war generally should be condemned by all means . The author has done a great job of portraying some complex events in the book in a simple manner. I don't think I disliked anything about this book. it was a wonderful read for me.
