I concur, students basically are treated like pawns in whatever decisions the government makes. And it was clear in this book where they were drafting them to fight a war. Even in other areas such as finances and resources, students always get the bad end of the deal.

As a former student leader, I was arrested and intimidated by the government. All they wanted was to gag me. When they can't gag you, they unleash violence. I have led protests where we were beaten and molested by security agents on the orders of government. So, in my country, student unionism is an attack on the government.
The same thing happened in my country, even many lost their lives. The government has molded us to be afraid and not work together.

It is very common for schools to be attacked. It is part of a strategy to create chaos and strike fear into the enemy.

Throughout history and across all countries, students have often been the leaders of protests against corruption and are therefore most likely the quickest and easiest target for government retaliation. That said, I must still acknowledge that students are not the most vulnerable population in a nation under tyrannical government rule.

I agree. Students are always affected. It's so annoying. Also, the part where students were killed broke my heart. I was so sad that that happened, but that is strangely the reality of some students in many countries.

I think that was bad. That was horrible. It was evil. Those students did not to die. The murder can never be justified.

It's easy for powerful men who govern nations to declare stuffs that won't affect them. Were they in the shoes of common citizens and students, they'd make different policies. How can we get a purely representative government? Till then, students and poor masses will continue to suffer.

I agree that students are mostly fragile to Government's decision because they are the growing generation and they are the ones who haven't achieved much in life.

I completely agree that students and their destinies often change radically during such events. Students are often the main driving force of the country, their thirst for freedom, and active expression of protest often become the main target of the government.

This is an issue that is still evident till date. The students are left with no koice but to succumb to whatever decision the government make.

War indeed affects the young one and that all are created by the government and those who are the government are older people thank you.

Students are vulnerable and get affected by both the good or bad decisions of the government, directly or not.

I think newer generations will always have influence from older generations. The government is a system that should always be evolving to meet the needs of society, which is always changing. Young people should not have to fear their early stages of adulthood like being drafted to fight in a war unwillingly.

I agree with that statement. Students are usually on the receiving end. In my country, students are currently unable to attend university because the government hasn't been able to fulfill their part.

I agree. Students are often in the receiving end of the government decisions, and they are often in the front lines when it comes to challenging those decisions.
