No. It can never be justified. While killing in self defense can still be justified, this is not right, fair or fine in any way. Children and not terrorists were killed. How can children pose a threat to a nation?

As long as a killing cam be objectively and categorically classified as arbitrary, then it can never be justifiable. National interest is loose political jargon often conveniently tossed about to disguise more sinister intentions.

Killing unarmed people who are not violent in the name of national interest is never justified.

Arbitrary killing in the name of national interest isn't justified. Wasting the lives of young ones in a bid to cover up their mistakes is totally wrong. It is an abuse of power and a lack of democracy.

No, I do not think killing in the name of national interest is justified. War and unrest is not a happy thing, and it is out of place for people to kill and cause harm in the name of national interest without taking necessary factors into consideration.

It's hard to believe it ever could be justified.

The police was supposed to protect the lives of these people, but they are the ones adding to their misery. The killings were not justified. I think it went unnoticed because there were no rules countering them.

No, killing innocent people is never justified, even if it is in the name of national interest.

This brings back vivid memories of a time in my nation when the police opened fire on unarmed demonstrators who were opposing bullying and cruelty against young people. It is never acceptable to kill peaceful, unarmed individuals for reasons of national security. Governments are killing people at random in the name of national security; this is immoral and heartless; governments are supposed to protect their subjects' lives and property.

No, it is not justified. It is out of place to kill in the name of National interest. War is not fair, and brutality should not exist.

Of course, it's not justified. But the Kent State Massacre was a seminal moment during the war in Vietnam. By then, even the most hard-core pro-war types were starting to get sick of the whole thing, particularly as the number of dead soldiers flashed across TVs from coast to coast each evening. And then, all of a sudden, people's children were being mowed down by gunfire in a safe haven of a university campus by national guardsmen ill-prepared for a peaceful confrontation. If anything, hearts and minds were directed away from support for the war than toward it.

Citizens should not be killed arbitrarily for whatever cause. The issue currently is that the government is doing little to stop such behavior. A police officer with a gun can shoot an unarmed protester because "they appeared to be violent," and nothing will happen to them. That is why we are still dealing with this issue today.

Killing for reasons of national security is completely unacceptable. There is no justification for the security personnel's conduct because the children slain on campus were not armed.

Killing for the sake of killing and just because you can is not justified.
