Killing cannot be justified. There was clearly power abuse here, probably fueled by the fear.

No, I believe in right and wrong and killing youths that was protesting in a non-violent way is definitely wrong. There is no justifying it. The officials were the ones with guns and authority, where the youths were just standing up for what the believed in. They didn't have any guns and maybe their amount of people, could have been a threat, they were not violent. I believe there are a lot of ways to diffuse a situation without killing. Shooting should be the utmost last reaction, if a reaction at all.

It's not justifed...it is the duty of the government to protect the lives and property of it's citizens...you can't be killing your people and say it's for national interest...you can't be killing what you are to protect.its not justifiable...

Arbitrary killing frequently occurs under military or authoritarian administrations. Whatever the circumstances, there is no excuse for such behavior. The protection of people and property is the primary responsibility of police officers.

Killing can never be justified, no matter the circumstances because life is sacred. The State can not be used as an excuse to kill people.

No. It can never be justified. While killing in self defense can still be justified, this is not right, fair or fine in any way. Children and not terrorists were killed. How can children pose a threat to a nation?

As long as a killing cam be objectively and categorically classified as arbitrary, then it can never be justifiable. National interest is loose political jargon often conveniently tossed about to disguise more sinister intentions.

Killing unarmed people who are not violent in the name of national interest is never justified.

Arbitrary killing in the name of national interest isn't justified. Wasting the lives of young ones in a bid to cover up their mistakes is totally wrong. It is an abuse of power and a lack of democracy.

No, I do not think killing in the name of national interest is justified. War and unrest is not a happy thing, and it is out of place for people to kill and cause harm in the name of national interest without taking necessary factors into consideration.

It's hard to believe it ever could be justified.

The police was supposed to protect the lives of these people, but they are the ones adding to their misery. The killings were not justified. I think it went unnoticed because there were no rules countering them.

No, killing innocent people is never justified, even if it is in the name of national interest.

This brings back vivid memories of a time in my nation when the police opened fire on unarmed demonstrators who were opposing bullying and cruelty against young people. It is never acceptable to kill peaceful, unarmed individuals for reasons of national security. Governments are killing people at random in the name of national security; this is immoral and heartless; governments are supposed to protect their subjects' lives and property.
