I agree with you. I think any reader would feel indignation because of the racism, brutality by the police, and abuse evident in the book. Sympathy for the downtrodden is inevitable too.

One thing I commend the author for is how he made the effect of the war on individuals understandable through the lenses of the various characters in the book. It wasn't just one person's opinions and that helped me to understand what War is. It used to be just a headline on the tv for me, but with this book I finally understand the insanity.

I think that the author wanted to differ a bit. Well as others focus on the killings, destructions, the feelings are always forgotten. It just makes it evoking and empathetic, but not less. I have ever witnessed a protest taking place in my country. It was a sad view. Believe me, I do not want to witness a war taking place.

It was quite a rollercoaster ride for me too. I was angry at the police, sympathized with Steve, Roxy and their friends, disgusted by Roxy and her abandonment of Steve and so many other emotions at different times. It left me feeling like a wrung towel at the end.

Reading “Wild World” makes me imagine what happened in the Vietnam war and makes me realize that war is not something to pray for in our country. I am glad I'm not born at that time not to talk of being forced to join the soldiers.

It made me feel sick. There is no other way I can put this. It sickened me so much that I had to take a break from the book at some point. War is never good. No body can convince me otherwise.

I felt like making a change in the world. I empathized with Roxy's mother too. She went through a lot and I felt like Roxy did not give her the grace she would have appreciated. But I simultaneously identified with Roxy's unresolved anger and resentment towards her mother. She was just a child herself when she had to assume the role of parent to both her sister and mother.

The description of war was too vivid. It made my heart ache uncontrollably and at some point I cried. Also, about Roxy, I felt the same way you felt towards her. She was easy to love and to hate.

It made me feel sad. No one in their right minds should ever pray for war because it is just horrible.

It's the focus on the emotions of the characters that makes the author a brilliant writer. We read stories of violence and it doesn't really affect us because it didn't happen to someone we love. We become heartbroken if only we experience the feelings of the victims. This is why the book deeply impressed feelings of pity, anger, and sometimes disgust on me.

Every time I read the news or read books about war, I always feel emotional. I pitied and sympathized with the victims but the eagerness to help them always overlap my other emotions. But it just leads to more sadness because I can't do anything to help them.

This book was quite enlightening and inspiring, not only did Steve and his friends handle it well they were also consistent in their demonstrations. And that goes a long, to not only fight for what is right but in a peaceful way and to never give up.

The book is very emotive. It brings to life the Vietnam war. Although I occasionally felt happy, the overall feeling the book engenders is sadness.

I felt saddened by the fact that the police were getting away with certain things. In the book, most if them didn't care about the citizens and used u necessary force when it was not needed.
