I think Roxy's mother did not love Roxy as much even before her sister's death. She also turned to religion as what I think is a coping mechanism of sorts. Anyhow, it is not far off for a religious extremist to act like that whether they have a mental health problem or not.

With the way she behaved, I really think she had mental issues. Or was it too much of religion? Which ever it it, it is a a problem and needs to be checked. A mother shouldn't behave such way to her real child!

Although her love for Roxy was dubious and she was an excessively fervent Christian, her mental health was fine. I wasn't very upset by the events because it happens frequently in Africa.

The death of her daughter hit her bad. She has never really recovered. She's too religious and this affects her decision making sometimes.

Exactly my point too. This is just a result of PTSD resulting from the death of her beloved daughter.

No, she wasn't in a correct mental state. I think she needs therapy. She's overly religious and insensitive. Roxy actions weren't so good but her reaction was over the fence.

Yes, I believe that she suffered from mental illness since the loss of her husband and her favorite daughter was too much for her to endure. She sent Roxy off on a little matter as a result of post-traumatic stress disorder.

To me, she was far from being mentally stable. Apparently, she couldn't come to terms with losing her husband and other daughter to death. It is unfortunate that Roxy's lifestyle worsened everything as it didn't meet her expectations.

Because of the sudden death of her husband and daughter, I think she is passing through some mental trauma.

I think she was properly okay. She was just frustrated about her daughter’s attitude. She chased Roxy out because she was disappointed at her.

No, Roxy's mother was clinging to a memory and already had a clear mental imbalance, coupled with religious fanaticism.

I think Roixie's mother is affected by being too sanctimonious and religion drunk. She naturally disliked Roxie and practised favoritism between her children which was very bad. With the act of favoritism at play, she is frustrated over the death of Audrey her favourite child. Its so painful for her and in a normal state would have wished Roxie dead in Audrey's place.

I do not think that Roxy's mother was in an entirely good mental state, I think the loss of half of your loved one can do that to a person.

No, she was not in a correct mental state. I think she has been stewing too long in hurt, pain and denial. She needs therapy.
