Was Roxy's mother in a normal mental state?

Certainly, it's possible that Roxy's mother is experiencing a mental breakdown as a result of the deaths of her husband and daughter. It makes me so sad to see her eject Roxy over insignificant matters. It is quite challenging to comprehend a person's conduct once their mental state begins to deteriorate, though.

Roxy’s mother was obviously suffering from a mental illness due to the loss of her daughter. She was suffering and should have been given appropriate help, even if she didn't want to. She was more attached to her dead daughter than to Roxy, so much that even after her death she could not detach
