Yes, he was. She didn't sacrifice for him as much as he did for her. He was always trying to please her, it was sad to see.

It might seem that Steve was throwing his life away for Roxy, but I believe that everything Steve did, he did it for himself. In his selfless service towards Roxy, he also wanted to have someone to love. I love the way the story ended, and it proves that he made the right choice.

I don't think it's about throwing a life away but making sacrifices and making do in the mean time. Now what happens in the after is a different story but I guess maybe my POV is different. I worked in districts I haven't loved while my husband took the time to find a job he really liked just so we had stability, I may not have had all the happiness in the world, but I wasn't throwing it away, I was just helping where I could.

I think that Steve had a few reasons for joining the police force; yes, staying close to Roxy was one of them. However, I feel that he really did feel moved to make a positive impact in the community. Confirmation of this is when things between him and Roxy begin to sour and he still keeps moving towards that goal. Roxy may have helped plant that seed in Steve's mind, but ultimately it was still his decision. Law School was also still in the books later down the line.

I would have recommended Steve to follow his heart because joining the Providence PD was more important to him than attending law school, but if Roxy was the only reason he stayed back then, it would have been a terrible decision.

But the truth is that their relationship would have ended if he had left Roxy. In life, there are no unquestionable good and evils, correct?

Joining the police department was not entirely due to Roxy's wants. Steve desired that for himself too and that was why he remained even after Roxy persuaded him to leave. However, if she was the reason for him joining, then yes, he'd have been throwing his life away

When you're in love you tend to make some choices that promote the future of said relationship.

To be with her, Steve had to make too many compromises. Despite the fact that he felt compelled to be near to her in order to prevent her from feeling lonely, she nonetheless betrayed his confidence.

I doubt that. If for anything, I believe Steve loved Roxy so much. She messed up so many times, I so wanted Steve to get himself together, but I realized that we all need someone to love us like Steve loved Roxy; cause this world is too broken.

Well considering the fact that he stayed with her and gave up his studies I would say yes. He then went and got a job and tried to do something good and the last thing she did was support him. So I would say definitely.

Might not seem normal but he did the two
He threw his life away for Roxy and still pursued his dream
He didn't seem to have any regret

Steve had a goal but because of Roxy, he decided to end it. He was doing every thing to impress Roxy and in a way throwing his life away.
