I felt the need to stand for a just course, to fight evil to the core. I learned patriotism as well.

I was happy for Steve, and I think the ending was perfect. It is good to see that something good happens, even though this is just a fiction book. I breathed a sigh of relief.

I was a bit underwhelmed, given that Steve himself wasn't an active part of busting out the corruption but I found it satisfying as well.

A bit underwhelmed with the rather untidy resolution for Steve. Other than that I was quite pleased with this book.

The ending wasn't all that satisfying for me. I mean, it fit and tied up loose ends, but it was too soft, like Steve had sort of given up on the Providence PD he'd so wanted to change. I was glad to see that his work with the FBI paid off and helped to catch some of the bad guys, but I didn't like that he was not there for it.
"No one is ever satisfied where he is," said the switchman.

I was relieved when I finished the novel because Steve finally found success. It motivated me to consistently exert my best effort in order to reach my goal. His sacrifices were worthwhile.

After finishing the novel, I gave the book's themes—love, war, corruption, and so forth—some thought. I was pleased that Steve Logan was successful in fixing a corrupt system. I believed that if we all followed Steve's example and worked to eradicate corruption from our society, the world would be a better place.

Life seemed to be about making sacrifices, in my opinion. Wherever one is, one must be willing to make a sacrifice. It is merely a fundamental requirement of life.

I loved the fact that the crime in the PD was later exposed. I didn't like the fact that Roxy and Steve got back together. She seemed like a toxic person

I liked the ending. Steve could at least physically see that he made a difference, even if it was a small one and it gave me hope for the future.
