The corruption portrayed in the book is a true picture of what is currently happening in many countries. To end corruption, we need courageous people and people who are ready to take risks like Steve in order to tame it, which currently exists in many countries.

I actually read emotional because it helps me feel what the author is trying to pass out as a message. I also agree with what @Ruthwriter wrote.
Do more, talk less. Never get mad at another man's success.

As a non-American reader, I did not feel anything. The only thought that passed over my mind was that generally Americans live in a bubble (especially those who don't travel abroad) and they don't really know much about the rest of the world unless they are involved in a conflict which is sad.

Yes, indeed I wasn't happy at all

I love the book because of the sacrifice Steve made in saving his nation. It is not easy for someone to abandon his education to fight for others. I really enjoyed the book. Good job.

I had just fury when reading this book. The violence was alarming. Unfortunately, police brutality occurs in the majority of the world's nations, so I felt horrible for everyone.

Because it occurs in many other nations, including mine, I could identify with the police violence and corruption as a non-American reader. I was disappointed that such things occur.

While reading this book, I became upset at times. Despite the war and violence, Steve remained convinced that the best way to defeat the force was from within. He would not have succeeded and might have died if it hadn't been for the FBI. I was disappointed in the kinds of decisions he made.

While reading this book, the only emotion I felt was rage. The brutality was shocking. I felt bad for everyone around the world because, unfortunately, police brutality occurs in almost all countries.

It's the police brutality that got me provoked. I guess it's because it happens in my country too.

I am a non-American and I can relate to the story, one reason is that war occurs almost everywhere in the world, and in my own country, police brutality is more worst.

I did not read the book with the mindset that this is an American story. I read it with the mindset that this is a human reaction. The 70s were not only in America it was like that in a few countries in the world. It does not matter where your from the themes touched in this book would impact people the same everywhere.

I can not say but I clearly know the emotions I felt and would be felted by some readers and that is resentment for Roxy and anger for steve for being a man who was willing to end his career for his girlfriend.

Not an American but I sympathise with them greatly and this book surely triggered it.
