Their relationship had its ups and downs, especially after Steve joined the police force. However, this provided an opportunity for growth, and they worked together to resolve it. They overcame, and that's a win for them. So that was a very healthy relationship in my opinion.

I would say that Roxy and Steve were two broken souls and that was definitely seen in the relationship between the two of them. There was love. But, in my opinion, unhealthy love.

Steve genuinely wanted Roxy to be safe, secure, and well-cared for. But I personally don't think it would be right for me to be in a relationship where there is no communication. In my opinion, Roxy didn't really love Steve.

I agree with you. There love wasn't genuine at all. If it was, then the two (Steve and Roxy) wouldn't keep some secrets for themselves. They would have shared.

I totally agree with the fact their relationship was toxic. Steve's action were mostly aimed at pleasing Roxy, and it is not healthy, but I do not think the relationship was toxic from the beginning.

Their relationship was something that seemed customary. Steve assumed that he would always be with her, but her ideals were very different.

She was a liberal person and he did what she wanted, in short from the beginning of the book he knew that her relationship would be damaged.

I believe that Roxy and Steve's love was conditioned. Roxy cheated on Cal because Steve was holding the broken pieces for her. They had a poisonous love, in my opinion.

I know their love had se defects, but I won't refer to it as being toxic. Everything was going on fine with them, not until Steve joined the police force.

Any relationship can be toxic. Steve was mesmerized by Roxy and I think that lead him to make some choices he wouldn't have made if he wasn't with her.

It was unhealthy since Steve's fear of losing her and desire to impress her were his only motivations for some of the decisions he made. Roxy was refusing to compromise for him, on the other hand. To me, it appeared to be a one-sided relationship.

Their love was toxic. It started with a lack of sincerity of what they were feeling within, then progressed to a lack of intimacy and bonding, then progressed to a lack of communication, then progressed to distancing themselves from each other, and then consistent series of misunderstandings and intense heartbreak.
I know relationships can be hard, but if you can first handle talking sincerely to each other, and listening to each other. Then a lot of other things will be calmer.

It wasn't a healthy relationship. Steve just joined the police force to be with Roxy and all his talks about making a change were just to have a proper excuse for postponing his law studies.

I don't think they had a healthy relationship. One major reason was how Roxy easily cheat on Steve just because they are not living together for a little while. What even makes it worst is the fact that Steve still falls in love back and is the one to beg for their reunion instead of Roxy.

I say it's toxic because Roxy had many betrayals, and it was seen by Steve. I found Steve was a martyr and he can't let go of Roxy.
