I was not actually disturbed though. It made the story more spicy.

I think profanity made the book what it is. Imagine writing a book about young people and not using profane words then it would make little or no sense.

Yes, the profanity in the book was a lot, but it didn't make the book less interesting

The truth is that I encountered the use of profanity on almost every page of this book which then made me think if that was the way of communicating even in a book whose story is assumed to be set in 1970. Although I was disturbed at first, I then got used to it as I inched into the book. When the plot got intended, I didn't mind the profanity anymore.

I Care less about profanity since people express themselves in different ways. One may have been used to profanity to an extent they normalize it, and you can't judge them by that.

I agree that this book contained a lot of profanity, but since the protagonist was a young college student, I believe that the sexual material, profanity, and drug usage were all appropriate for the story's setting.

Yes, I was also shocked because there are already profanities even at the very first pages of the book.

I understand. But I don't have any problem with the book. I only try to make meaning out of things. What is the aim of the author? Why is he repeating it? Is there any meaning I can make out of this?

Generally, this book is still appropriate to me. But there are some books I can't read.

I think the profanity added to the intensity of the book. The book was intense in every way. It needed profane words to go with the flow.

I haven’t finished the book yet, but I don’t feel like the profanity is gratuitous. It feels authentic to the characters and situations, which doesn’t bother me. I do think there could be more information given about adult content in BOTM selections. Maybe it IS available, but if so, it’s not obvious.

I don't think profanity is ever necessary in any situation. But perhaps the author wanted to make the book seem realistic because in some societies profanity is used a lot.

Because of the exciting plot and realistic setting it revolves around, I was fine with the amount of profanity in this book.

I believe that the use of profanity was to intensify the emotions of the characters. It made the book look more realistic and made the book more interesting to read.

I do think that the profanity in the book was a lot, but at the same time, this book was about a college student, and personally, I think that the profanity made this book look more real.

I would say that the profanities were necessary given the book's setting and theme. so, I wouldn't castigate the author for that.
