Do you think the author has given a realistic reason to make Steve change his mind from learning the law.

Steve's reasons for entering the police department were probably not compelling. Law schools and police brutality are kind of related.

I think Roxy played a great part in Steve's decision but overall he chose to go to the police department because he genuinely thought he could make a greater difference there.

Yes, the author did. The police brutality and unfairness was too much for Steve to handle, and the author did not just tell us this, he let us see it from different scenes. His girlfriend was spoken to rudely, even himself had to face it once.

Yes, the author gave a realistic reason for Steve joining the police force and one reason is that Steve has learned that to change a system he must be part of the system and the only option is to join the police force to know everything about their corrupt system and think of a way to change it, instead of studying law and have to seat and defending a numerous number of case each day.

He was considering staying before the job as a police officer came into the mix, that was just the deal clincher. Staying because of Roxy was not a good decision. Staying because he could actually change something big was a noble reason.

I don't think so, because I believe studying law would also help him put an end to the corruption he has the intention to put out.

Yes the author did. The Sergeant Durk's lecture was enough reason for him to change his mind from law, this is realistic enough

I will say he was right. first, he only postponed his desire to go to law school and not change. He wanted to make a change and he risk things to make that happen.

The reasons were not concrete enough. He acted like an ignorant kid, knowing how dangerous the system is. He could have died while going this.

Nope, the reason was somehow not correlated. But it’s understandable seeing that before going into the police force, he had no idea on what to do.

Yes I think he did. The reason was very accurate and worthy as it can be.

Yes the author did, people may not acknowledge it but it was Sergeant Durk's lecture that inspired him

The author has my support. Despite the fact that Steve was almost finished with law school when he took what I perceived to be a somewhat severe decision, I recognize that some people have to deal with certain events in their lives when they arise. Not missing these crucial occasions is a must.

This is true... Youths and passion are opposite sides of the same coin. So I agree with you that the author did a believable job.

I believe Steve made up his mind to focus on birthing a better system than just studying law. However, I think becoming a lawyer would place him in a right spot for his cause.
