I agree that Steve’s attitude of looking always as regards drugs and Roxy was hypocritical but he’s just human and most people in such situations would do the same.

I don't think that, he is more of a manipulable and easily influenced character.

The fact that he smoked dope with his friends, was aware that his friends were in possession of it, and also followed his brother when he wanted to conclude a drug deal makes him a bit hypocritical because he wouldn't keep a blind eye if it was an outsider.

I do not think is a hypocrite instead I think he is human. Like everyone, he does not wish to lose his friend which leads to him making those decisions.

Steve exhibited some hypocrisy. He had consistently kept his eyes closed to his friend's wrongdoing. He was afraid that imposing would simply make them feel uneasy around him and that he would eventually lose them.

I do not think he was a hypocrite, however, little bad behaviours grow to become a problem. If Steve did not join the police force with an agenda, I do think with time he would have become all he was fighting against. That being said, I commend his ability to stay focused on his mission.

I agree with you that his habit of looking away as regards Roxy and drugs is hypocritical. There shouldn't be exceptions in carrying out his duties.
