Well, I can understand your observations. But I think no book in this world can actually capture the whole details of its preoccupation. Such details as giving some hints of Patsy's life and relationship before and after her illness, as well as writing more about the personality of Linda may have made things better, but I think the information we have about them is sufficient. Like I said before, no book can cover everything.

I do believe more background info on Patsy would have been great and then it would have easier to connect with her and the reason for Linda's sacrifice to care for Linda. It would have made the connection in the book a lot better if there was more information available.

I would also love to know patsy's attitude towards her illness. How was the relationship fairing during the trying time of the illness?

All these are fascinating and new to me because I have not yet read the book to this extent quite yet. When I am done, I will definitely have more to say about Patsy and Linda.

I would love to know more about patsy before the illness. It'll be good to know more about patsy's personality and how everything was before the illness. The same goes for Linda

I would've loved to know more about both Patsy and Linda. To know more about how everything was for both of them before Patsy's illness.

Yes, I don't like it when a seemingly great character is introduced in passing. Indeed, I'd have loved it if Patsy was a much more present character.

Someone would definitely relate more and have a bigger understanding for their personality. But since the book is not a work of fiction i think that it's not necessary to know about the past events.

laura_mcc wrote: 09 Sep 2022, 21:10 Did anyone else feel that they wished they knew more about Patsy's life and personality before the illness? I wished Ron Tripodo had spoken more about Patsy's life and relationships before the illness and how they changed after the illness. I also felt that his descriptions of Linda were kind, but did not reflect the enormous sacrifice that she made to care for Patsy. One way to honor this sacrifice would be to describe her personality, thoughts, and feelings while she was caring for Patsy.
I think i totally agree with you. However on a second thought, it could also make the book wordy and excesively detailed. I love the book the way it is.

I believe I concur with you completely. On second thinking, though, it might also result in an overly wordy and thorough book. The book is perfect for me as it is.

I would I have really loved to know more about Patsy life, but then, the book would have contain excess description. I just like the book the way it is.

In my opinion, the author has given us enough information about Patsy and Linda's life. The author entrusted the rest to our imagination and fantasy, which, in my opinion, makes the book more interesting and intriguing.

While interesting I think this book is more about heartfelt personal experience. Comparing the differences would be more of a scientific approach? He mentions her sudden improvement with driving ability. If he doesn't mention anything else then maybe there weren't other big changes. Otherwise I think it would be pointed out.

I think there was enough information about Patsy and Linda. What more should I know about them?
