I hope this question is coming from an honest place because it is a good question, one that most men of God can deliver a full sermon about. But from me all you will get is, significant efforts needs recognition and praise.

I think some people lose their faith in God after a traumatic experience because they would think God doesn't love them, and some will think that God allows bad things to happen to them because he hates them, but sometimes God allows certain things to happen just to know the level of our faith in him. God can never hate his own.

Tripodo's faith is very admirable. Not many would have faith like him. If I were the one, I would have found it difficult to have faith in God after that ordeal. I would also like to read other people:s thoughts on this.

I think people whi lose faith in GOD may have not reached a certain level of spiritual maturity in their walk with GOD. Having studied through the scriptures and having received revelations, it will be difficult to lose faith in GOD. People who lose their faith often should surrender themselves to mentoring and a deeper study of the Word.

I've also seen many stories of Christians holding onto their faith after losing a loved one. In fact, I've seen so many of these stories of Christians holding onto their faith after a traumatic experience that I've come to the conclusion that the majority of Christians hold onto their no matter how much pain and suffering they experience, and that suffering is not the principle reason why most Christians lose their faith in God.

If my hypothesis is correct and the majority of Christians still have faith in God after losing their loved ones or going through some traumatic experience, then what exactly is so inspiring about Ron Tripodo's experience? Why were so many OBC readers impressed with Tripodo's faith? As an atheist, I find it difficult to understand some readers admiration for Tripodi's faith.

If the majority of Christians lost their faith in God after a traumatic experience then I would understand how inspiring Tripodo's faith would seem. But this is not the case. I've seen trailers for Christian movies talk about Christians becoming atheists after losing a loved one. For example, in the movie Let There Be Light, Dr. Sol Harkens lost his son to cancer and then became an atheist. The movie is about how Harkens regains his faith. If Harken's experience is a common one, then that would mean Tripodo's faith was a very impressive feat, if not that would mean that, at least in my eyes, his faith was a not meaningful factor in the heartbreaking ordeal he had to endure.
I do not think people lose their faith in God as often as many would have you believe. If anything, I have seen people's resolve to trust God and believe in him intensify when something traumatic happens to them. It is like their belief on him keeps them grounded and sane.

Losing faith through traumatic experience is common especially if there was no faith to begin with. This book teaches that it takes faith not to lose faith in God

I think people lose their faith in God after experiencing traumatic events. Honestly, it's totally understandable. People would wonder why God let the unfortunate event happen to them. "Why couldn't he stop it". I have been there myself. But I always console myself with the saying that everything happens for a reason and God would never wish me ill.

I think, trauma change our lives for worst, at least before our resilience came to help us, so, faith is one of the most positive parts of a human. Make sense trauma affect people faith for me, as it affect everything.

It is very common for people that face traumatic experiences to lose their faith in God, believing deeply that if they're truly loved by God, they shouldn't face that.
But God never promised us a perfect life. Of course we will face hardships, but the amazing thing is the fact that he will save us from that hardship and heal us.

The ability to not falter in faith after a traumatic experience is truly divine.

Brenda Creech wrote: 04 Sep 2022, 14:51 I found Tripodo's faith extremely admiral. I experienced several traumatic events very close together, and I lost my faith in God! I am not proud to admit it, but I was angry and couldn't understand why I was going through what I was at the time. I was a very dedicated Christian and very active in my church. I just turned my back and walked away from God and out into the world to live a completely different life! But you see, I couldn't run from God forever. I could never get
God off of my mind because I knew what I was doing was wrong. This went on for fifteen years before I turned back to God and my faith was renewed. While I was living for the world, God showed me the contrast between my two lives and I knew I couldn't make it any longer without Him. So you see, some Christians lose their faith in God in trying times. But once you have known God and had a personal relationship with Him you cannot go another way for very long without wanting to run back to God! I wish I had been as strong in my faith as Tripodo was!

I think this comment shows how believers can grow in faith. It takes time, it takes experience, and sometimes it hurts.

There are numerous examples of people in the bible that don't lose their faith after going through various ordeals. I think this contributes to Christians holding on to their belief after experiencing something traumatic

It’s true that a lot of people loses their faith after going through a difficult situation. Some can be temporary and some, permanent. Well, this has to do with the relationship such an individual has with God before. I hope we don’t go through a test/temptation that’s beyond the capacity of our faith.

It's not easy to keep up the faith when someone had a traumatic experience.
I would say it's by the Grace of God through prayers that our faith in God is rekindled.

I believe that it's okay for people to lose some faith when something tragic happens but usually when a person starts to remember all that God has done for them in life, their faith is restored.

The reason most readers have found Tripodo's faith in God so inspiring is that not all could stand the pains of losing loved ones without the feeling of being betrayed by the One they put their faith in through prayers to always keep them away from danger. Hence, when people see a few people who display unshaken faith amid tribulations, they tend to show some admiration for their faith.
