Tripodo's faith is exemplary. I can say that I am a firm believer in God, but when I lost my dad and then my brother in death, it wasn't easy to hold up to the faith. Sometimes I was even unable to pray. But what helps is not giving up.

It is quite often. These people are referred to as "men of little faith" in the Holy book. They believe God left them to go through difficulties, therefore they too should leave Him.

Most people actually lose their faith after a traumatic experience. To them, they believed that God had a way to prevent that event from occuring but he chose not to. They decide that, perhaps God does not care or value them as much as He does others.
Meanwhile, other people's faith becomes stronger after a traumatic experience because they believe that it is one of the may temptations of life.

I agree with you that suffering is not a principle for loss of faith in God. The traumatic events that take place can weaken one's mind and believe, but it is necessary to find solace in God.

It so happens that people do lose their faith in God after a traumatic experience. I do believe that rather than letting go of that faith, finding ways to strengthen that faith, even more, strengthens not just the person's mind but the body as well.

Everyday, people encounter different things in their life. It is almost a normal thing for one to lose faith in God because of a traumatic experience, but it's not often. The damage from the experience can make one's mind to wander away from faith and trust, but it can wander back into faith.

I have been on this table. I remember being angry with God when I lost my grandma but then my dad died I just knew nothing should affect my faith in God.

It's normal for every human to question what he or she believes in when something bad happens. So people losing faith when something traumatizing happens is notthing out of the ordinary.

Unfortunately, it is not as easy as it may seem. There are times when I had questioned my faith even when the tragedy I experienced was not directly affecting me. I admire Ron.

The sole reason for faith is the fact that we have something to hold onto. When we lose what we are holding onto and see or have no hope for something better, we are bound to lose faith in God or any subject for that matter. But if the opposite is true, our faith increases in both quality and quantity.

I think when they pray and expect immediate results but there's a delay, that's when they give up on God.

That's true. Many Christians want favour in their lives they have lost faith in God.

I think it is very easy and common for people to lose faith when faced with something terrible. It is so easy to think that God would never let an awful thing happen to someone who puts all their faith in him.

I think what you are talking about is sirvivorship bias. You are more likely to here people proclaiming their steadfast belief in God rather than them talking about losing faith in God. It could be seen as a shameful thing of you were a christian but now no longer believe in God.
