You see , the real meaning of faith is whether it's put to test or not, it's to prove that one strongly accepts any outcome of personal or collective responsibility. As Christians we are commanded to shine the light. we are the light of the world. so when you don't accept or you suddenly became wavering in a tough situation, how will you shine the light?

How many? People lose faith, but I am not sure if there's a number for it. If something traumatic happens then possibly they'll give up and turn their backs to God. But not really leaving because they'll come back when they realise the truth.

Not every christian still hold on steadfastly in faith during trials. In fact, most Christians rather become unfaithful. So, Tripodo's faith is admirable. What you see in movies happens yes. But that is minority.

I think they hold onto their faith because it’s the only hope they have. But I’ve also seen some who loss their their faith after a traumatic experience and later they find it again. Some of the stories we hear, although they may not say it but they probably abandoned their faith for a period of time.

In reality, most individuals do lose faith after experiencing severe tragedy. Just that not all of their experiences are shared. Having faith when dealing with a challenging circumstance may be challenging. This is due to your firm belief and the fact that you prayed for divine help before going through the agony. When it fails to manifest, you begin to doubt everything.

After a traumatic event, most people tend to go to God for clarity. You rarely find someone who loses their faith in God after a traumatice experience.

Losing faith in God does not happen often irrespective of the level of tragedy that one encounters. It might seem hard to keep the faith, and it is necessary to know that keeping the faith is not something that we can do on our own strength. I also do not agree with the principle that suffering causes lose of faith.

Well, I wouldn't know how you got the statistics. However, whether most Christians stay or leave the faith after a traumatic event in their life, it is not easy to stay in faith when life happens to you. For me, more people lose their way in the face of difficulty than they stay in faith. So, if the author stayed, his personality is worth admiring.

Kelsey Roy wrote: 04 Sep 2022, 18:46 I think that perhaps the reason you’ve seen many stories about people maintaining faith after a loss is uncommon, and when it’s experience, it’s documented. Speaking from personal experience: my husband was raised Catholic. He lost his dad while in college to cancer, a quick passing after a hopeful diagnosis. My husband felt betrayed. How could a loving, merciful God take his dad from him? My husband lost his faith. Now, my husband has since started rekindling his faith, but that initial reaction of betrayal is still deep inside. I think this may be the more common feeling after loss. So, in my opinion, Tripodo’s complete TRUST in God amazes me. Not only did he continue to just call himself a Christian, he wholeheartedly believed in his God to deliver a miracle.
Exactly. That it isn't documented doesn't mean that people don't lose their faith when bad things happen. I guess that most folks try to keep their failings personal and only share the victories.

I would say that that happens majorly in movies. Most times when we humans face trial and tribulations, we are very fast to give up and sometimes even curse God. So Ron's personality was very commendable because not all humans can hold on like him

Most people lose faith immediately after a tragic or heartbreaking experience and it is not uncommon. At that time, there's a lot going on and you just don't know what's right anymore

I'd say most people tend to lose faith after a lost of a love one or a traumatic event. This usually occurs because their faith doesn't explain why something so awful would happen. Then, they can either chose to have faith that it all happens for a reason or lose faith entirely. Some strengthen their faith even more.

It’s not a good thing to loose a loved one. But Christians need to always hold on to their faith

Many people give up on agod after a traumatic experience, however some other people still remain steadfast in their faith. I think this is where love of God, despite all odds cme to play
