I didn't think about that during the book, but since you opened that topic, I started realizing that it could make a difference if we find out more about Patsy before her illness. I would love to know more about Patsy and Linda, my mind was occupied with Ron that I wasn't aware of it before.

I agree with you on this. I wish Ron had spoken about Patsy and her illness more. I also wished he had talked more about her after the illness.

I totally agree with you that the author should given information Patsy's life and personality before the beginning of her illness, and I say this because it is necessary do give sufficient information about characters as it will help to understand the book better.

Well, I agree with you to some extent. On the other hand, it might have been one detail too much and could have unnecessarily made the book longer. I think the details are okay the way the author presented them.

I agree. Sometimes we want more information about characters we love. More information about Patsy would have allowed us to see the character in a different light and perhaps understand her better.

Personally, I appreciated Ron Tripodo's writing. I didn't regret him not giving a detailed information about Patsy. Maybe he wanted to keep his readers gauzing.

I feel like I didn't know much about Patsy's life apart from Ron's narration

I agree to this. It would have made the book longer.

I think enough light was thrown about Patsy. Too much would probably have disinterested the readers.

I think that the author tried to write more about the faith and love for his wife. He wanted to show that through love, faith and support you can overcome a lot. He was able to do that, because even not knowing more about their characters we still witnessed Ron's love for his wife. We know what type of a man is and the way he loves his wife it must show that she is a good wife.

laura_mcc wrote: 09 Sep 2022, 21:10 Did anyone else feel that they wished they knew more about Patsy's life and personality before the illness? I wished Ron Tripodo had spoken more about Patsy's life and relationships before the illness and how they changed after the illness. I also felt that his descriptions of Linda were kind, but did not reflect the enormous sacrifice that she made to care for Patsy. One way to honor this sacrifice would be to describe her personality, thoughts, and feelings while she was caring for Patsy.
I would love to know Patsy's life and personality before her illness. Perhaps, a second edition should capture this. I need to know her preferences and the life she led that attracted Ron to her. It'll inspire someone.

That didn't really occur to me. Like I enjoyed the book as it is, I wasn't interested in knowing more about them.

I agree with you. I actually wanted to see Patsy without the illness. A Patsy that was just Patsy, not a sick Patsy.

I will say that the life of Patsy and the illness was a lesson to many. Also, people speak what they feel like speaking, I'm referring to Ron Tripodo. But my favorite in this book is Linda.
