More information about Patsy and Linda

Post by laura_mcc »

Did anyone else feel that they wished they knew more about Patsy's life and personality before the illness? I wished Ron Tripodo had spoken more about Patsy's life and relationships before the illness and how they changed after the illness. I also felt that his descriptions of Linda were kind, but did not reflect the enormous sacrifice that she made to care for Patsy. One way to honor this sacrifice would be to describe her personality, thoughts, and feelings while she was caring for Patsy.

I don't think the author thought it was so necessary and this book doesn't seem to be getting an update any time soon so we'll have to make due with what we've been giving. Nevertheless, the book was enjoyable.

Hello Laura, I also wished to interact with Patsy's character before the ailment. I wanted to know whether she was as loving to Ron as he was.

I think I agree with you; I would have also loved to read more about Patsy and Linda's contribution to the story. More depth will have been more appropriate for the plot.

I was not particularly interested in the characters of this book. Some of them were quite interesting but I just wasn't sold. I am not even sure I will finish reading this book.

Yeah. I felt it too, and I believe that it'd have been nice to know what glamorous life that Patsy had before the illness. The work is commendable.

I personally think that the author did enough, any more and the book becomes unnecessarily long. The characters were well described and well written. I think I got just what I expected.

Patsy's stubbornness in some cases is irritating. Even at the detriment of her health. Thank goodness she had a caring husband. How amazing he is.

Now that I think of it, knowing about Patsy's previous life would really have been interesting.

I think you’re absolutely right. While I got immersed reading about Patsy, her illness, and the help Linda gave them, I truly wondered about Patsy and wished I could know more about her personality beyond her illness. Linda’s sacrifice also could have received more spotlight, as it was no mean feat.
But I like to think that the author did a good job nevertheless, because a lot of information could mean information overload that can stretch some readers more than they’re willing.

I appreciated the background we got on Ron and Patsy's relationship, but I do agree there was not much detailing on Patsy. I couldn't agree more with your point on Linda. Her role in the journey was monumental however we do not get much background on her.

I belive since the book revolves around telling the life of the author, and of course, a bit of the life of those that have a crucial role in his life must be mentioned. so im not expecting that the book talk more or go deeper than he had originally done.

I have not yet finished reading the book actually. I am still following, so I cannot genuinely give a valid answer to this. But trust me to be back when I am done reading.

I also sensed so but I felt the author tends to talk more about the key personalities who had made sacrificial impact in his life, such his wife
