I would say even if you are a white collar person, just sampling this book isn’t enough. There are so many useful concepts in this book that apply to both blue and white collar workers - just to people in general - about how we choose to live our lives and what we make of it. The concept of the 5 gallon buckets and the death clock are just two of things that can change your mindset about your life. Life visions and making a plan to achieve your goals is another.Cristina Corui Mihailescu wrote: ↑02 Nov 2022, 08:33 I have sampled the book yesterday. I say sampled only because I have been obsessed with university studies ever since I was a little girl. I knew that blue-collar jobs were not for me. I have always loved reading and learning from books, not doing things. I have been a teacher for...ages, and now I consider such a book very useful in my job. Teenagers should be advised to do what suits them best. If they find pleasure in physical work, it is no less rewarding than a white-collar job. The book is very interesting for parents and teenagers as well, I will recommend it to my students.
I am a uni graduate and white collar worker, but this book’s concepts apply just as much to us. I urge you to give it a full chance.

I completely agree with you. Whether the ideas were really fresh, or it was just a fresh way of looking at them, it really struck a chord with me. I recommend it to anyone, not just blue collar.AvishaJain_13 wrote: ↑02 Nov 2022, 03:48 I loved the concept of this book, in this day and age it is hard to find new and refreshing topics that actually matter. It has begun to feel like every work of art is recycled but this book felt very original. I love how such a simple titled book and cover such complex topics. I would definitely recommend this book to others.

I noticed that others mentioned that the book is focused on the USA. I did remark that for myself, but it really didn't bother me. I think the whole concept of the book could be applied to nearly anyone, regardless of your location/country. It's about working with your hands; you can do that just about anywhere. And I say that as someone who has lived in at least two countries, USA not included.
All in all, I loved the book; I have nothing negative to say about it. I would definitely recommend it to others, particularly those considering a college degree, have just finished, or are simply looking for some direction in life.

Yes, this is one of the best parts about this book!Christell Lindeque wrote: ↑15 Nov 2022, 12:18 The author tries to get the reader to work to live and not live to work. He also tries to make blue-collar jobs sound more appealing in the 20th century and that degrees and education are not needed anymore to make your dreams come true. He also says that he a person can make it big without college and he gives advice in this book on how to achieve this. This book isn't for me though but I find it is a must-read for people who find themselves in a situation where they have no college degrees but have dreams to follow.
