Kim and Shan

A great relationship is built by great friends. I am glad they started off as friends and this evolved into something great. It is both intriguing to read. This adds an interesting dimension to the story.

I am really excited by the relationship between Kim and Shan. I knew from the first moment that Shan was introduced into the story that they would develop a romantic bond. It only became more apparent tome as Kim’s dislike for the existing system grew.

I like them together, you can tell there's more than just friendship since the beginning. I just really hated that Kim's memory was altered. It was a really cool twist, but damn! There were so many obstacles but love won this time!

I felt that there relationship was interesting, but and the same time it was almost forced. They loved each other which evolved throughout the story line, but all of their meetings, everything they were able to talk or see each other was planned by the AIs. Their relationship wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't allowed. Either to force Kim to break as many rules as possible, to her into as much trouble, and cause as much destruction to her life and career as possible. So as much as I liked the relationship, it seemed like an arranged marriage and then they fell in love years latter. I know they're not married, but it's the same concept.

I think Kim needs Shan, as she pushes her to go out of her comfort zone and do thinks she wouldn't normally do. Kim would definitely get into less trouble without Shan but she'd have less fun too.

Kim and Shan's relationship in the book is one of what I enjoyed. They got along together, they forgot their responsibilities and they spend time together joyfully, and it caught me by surprise what happened to them in the Shangri-La. There was a hole in Kim's mind that she didn't remember the particular events of her time with Shan, and I never thought that for the first pages of reading the book. A lot of twists that I can't predict. I love these characters in the book.

Although the two are destined to have separate fates, I feel like they are somehow connected to each other like soulmates. Even though Kim feels that Shan always breeds trouble when they together I fully blame Kim for their actions. It's like she always wants to do something but can't until Shan puts the idea into practice.

Her sexual identity crisi could've been handled better if they just gave her a friend to confide everything with, making Shan her romantic partner took away a lot of the support from Kim, as she is already dealing with so much.

I found their relationship to be interesting at first. Shan easily influenced Kim to do adventurous and often dangerous things. Their personalities were different and I found myself annoyed with how reckless Shan was. I can't say that I was shocked about the romantic aspect. I knew it was very likely that they'd develop feelings for each other. I hope they are able to overcome the AI's interference and have a happy ending in the second book.
