I previously had a kindle touch as well and I loved it. The only thing missing was that I couldn't read in the dark! If your sole purpose is reading I definitely recommend the paper white. The backlight is soft enough that it isn't bothersome like a phone or tablet and the fact that it's adjustable and can be turned off is great. I was worried that might compromise battery life, but I can still go a long time without charging. I love mine and I'm glad I made the switch!

I just bought the newest version of Kindle Paperwhite which is waterproof! I love it so much! I can read while floating in the pool or at the beach and not be afraid of damage. Plus there is no glare! You won't be disappointed.

Yes, but only if you want one with a backlight i.e. you want to read at night as well. But, if you're getting a Kindle just to read books throughout the day, the basic version is perfect.

I always tell everyone this, if you are even considering or thinking about getting a certain kindle, specifically a kindle paperwhite, or other. If it even crosses your mind and you question. Than to get it!!!! You will absolutely love it and its worth every penny.

I just ordered one! I've been avoiding it but I guess it's time. I read a million reviews on all the different Kindles yesterday. I wish I had come to this forum first!
