Kindle Shopping Advice?

Post by Raven Friesen »

Hey everyone!

I was an avid Kindle user for years before I ended up losing my last Kindle, and due to some not so great circumstances, I'm only just now looking to buy another one as I finally have some actual time to start reading again. When I did purchase my Kindles, they were both the cheapest options. The first one I got when I was in middle school and had the buttons on the bottom and was not touchscreen. The last Kindle I purchased right around the time I was graduating high school and was again the cheapest option available, but this one was a touchscreen.

I was looking on Amazon, and I'm shocked by the number of Kindles they've released in the years since I last purchased one! I don't want to just jump on and buy the cheapest option again, and I would love some advice on which Kindles are the best for someone that uses it for reading only, but doesn't necessarily want ads on my screen anymore, lol!

I noticed they have the Kindle Scribe, which looks incredible but is definitely a bit pricey! Is it worth the money? Or should I just stick with the regular e-readers? I do love to take notes and write in journals. I usually have a journal and pen sitting right next to me as I read so I can take notes and whatnot, so it would be pretty cool to have it combined into the e-reader.

Any and all advice and experiences with purchasing Kindles are welcome! I'm really excited to get another Kindle, but I don't want to just jump in and buy the first one that looks good enough. Of course there are reviews on Amazon I could look over, but as everyone on here seems to be more of the avid-reader type (like I am!), I would love to hear what all of you have to say!

Thank you all so much in advance!
