Yes of course! I have the kindle fire 8 generation and it's almost like having a mini smart tv. I will have to admit the power dying is a drag. It always happens right when I'm in the middle of a book! Another con is that the screen does give you headaches if you stare at it to long. So it really depends if your a long period of time reader or a here and there one.

You can get free books through Amazon which is my preference but I’ve also used overdrive. I’ve heard good things about bookbub but I’ve never used it.

When you buy a book from a kindle price, is it considered a promotional price as well?

I definitely agree that Amazon is the best place to find free books for your Kindle; however, if you are a quick reader, I would suggest subscribing to Kindle Unlimited where you can get any book for free!

Amazon has lot of permanently free books and temporally free ones. I have search for free fantasy and sci-fi book bookmarked and check it once in a while. Managed to grab some popular books that way.

Also libraries if you have access to some that offer e-books for kindle. For 50$ per year Queens Public library even offers international membership with acces to ebooks, just in case someone here is not from USA.

I have Kindle Unlimited from Amazon. It is totally awesome. I didn't understand how it works, but now I know. It is like a library you can have like 20 books out and when you choose 21, Amazon will ask which of your 20 books do you want to return, then you select that one and it deletes, and you can get the new book. If you read a book that is in a series, you can usually get the first and maybe the second free, but maybe the next ones there will be books you must buy, but usually on a discount. I have several series, and I read the whole series that were free. I don't think there is anything that is better than Kindle Unlimited, other than the public libraries, and be sure to get Libby which is an app that works between you and the library, and you can borrow, similarly, to Kindle Unlimited for free if you have a library card.

I subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, and with a small fee, I can have up to 20 books at a time in my library. Amazon also has books that can be downloaded for free

I usually use the kindle unlimited, it has saved me a lot of money. I have not found any better websites to be honest, just some pdfs where you also pay for the membership.

Definitely Amazon. They have all the classics and some books that are super rare. It depends on what genre you prefer. There are sometimes some free releases like "tasters" for books or series. I even found some pretty cool graphic novels for free on Amazon.
