I cannot fathom needing a battery to read a book.

I love my Kindle!! I do still love the feel of a paperback in my hand, but I love the space that it will save me in my house. There are a few authors that I will always buy the paperbacks. The main one is Stephen King.

My hubby has one and really seems to enjoy it. He has lost feeling in the left side of his body from a recent stroke se t makes it easy for him to continue enjoy reading. I bought him a cover for it that allows him to set it up on a table without having to hold it.
I download kindle books to my PC but mostly still love the ritual of holding a book & turning it's pages. Maybe someday I will see the light, lol!~TJ

I have had my Kindle for a little over 3 years. I never though I would be able to make the switch from "real books". I did and I never looked back. I love it. I take it everywhere I go. My husband is a little jealous of it  I have looked at other readers and I really do prefer Kindle.

I love my kindle! I still read real books and visit the library often but i love how easy my kindle is to carry and use. I'm the type of person who only reads a book once so I rarely buy books I prefer to borrow them from the library, a lot of times there is a wait on the book I want. I love that the times I absolutely can not wait I can get it on my kindle with just a click of a button and usually for not very much. Like many people have already said, i didn't think I could switch from the real thing to a kindle but I actually found it easy and liked it.

I have just bought a Kindle paperwhite - and I love it!

I never in my wildest dreams thought I would get one, as I'm a purist and like the physical feel of books, as well as seeing and greeting them every day in my bookcases - old friends with whom many memories are shared.

One day I needed a book in a hurry, an old classic, and it seemed logical to get it in ebook form. I have an ipad, so I downloaded it and started reading, an experience that convinced me to try a kindle. Now I will never look back. I never lose my place and always carry it around in my bag, ready to whip it out if I have to wait in a queue, which happens often in Italy where I live. It is so light and fits into a pocket as well.

There aren't many books written in English available where I live, so it's a godsend being able to choose what I want and have it delivered immediately. No more going into the local bookstore and coming out with empty hands.

And even if I can't have any physical contact with my kindle books I love the feeling of knowing that they're all together in my device, keeping me company wherever I go!

I love my kindle. It works out well with traveling. It doesn't take up much space and i can use it at night.

I really did not want a kindle and now I wouldn't trade it.
We go to used bookstores and libraries and new bookstores, but my daughter and I get TWO copies of the books we buy on the kindles, so we can both read it and talk about it, which is amazing.
Yes, I love holding a beautiful book in my hands.
We got a kindle copy of The Blind Assassin and checked it out from the library as well, so we could flip back and forth easier.
We have cards at three libraries and spend heaps of money at our fav used bookstores still.

I was one who never thought I would get an eReader until I borrowed a book from the library and the text was so tiny and faded that I had to return it 'unread'.
I knew then that if it was in eBook format that I would have not had any trouble reading it,so after much research and considering Amazon's unsurpassed Customer Service, and when Kindle made the deal with Overdrive so that library books can be in Kindle format, I bought the Kindle Touch in late 2011,and I would be happy if I could get all my books in Kindle format!
I don't miss reading book form one iota, since my Kindle is lighter,I don't have the aggravation of the book closing on me while I'm reading, and the E-ink is so soothing on my eyes, plus I can always set text size to suit me.For me, no paper book is better than an eBook except those with lots of photos.

Great point, there, though. Some book reviews say, don't get the Kindle version of this book because the photos are not included, or not good.

I got my kindle in about early march and I have to say I love it, its not exactly easy to find free books for it but amazon has a bunch of books you can get. I think it makes reading a little better you can basically get into whole new genres that you've never read before

A friend sold me her gen1 Kindle Fire a few weeks ago. Generally, I don't like e-books, but I've found they're actually great for exercising, because you can increase the font sizes. My vision is going so fast that I can barely read books if they're more than a few feet away. The Kindle makes this a lot easier. And it seems that most of the exercise machines have slots to fit e-readers. For a book you need one of those plastic book holders that always make a book slip one way or another. I'll never get rid of my printed books, but for some uses a Kindle is enough.

Having a Kindle has provided me with a substantially greater selection of books, many of them free. I still enjoy reading regular books for the tactile experience that comes with them. However, the convenience of having a library with you anywhere you go makes it worthwhile for me. Additionally, it is so much easier for me to find rare books online, rather than scouring the book shops across the land. I have no experience with the Nook or other e-readers, but I love my Kindle Fire.
