I have your basic Kindle. Nothing fancy. I got it about 5 years ago. I absolutely love my Kindle. I have always been a book lover and love to read anything and everything. I used to have tons of books sitting on the table next to my chair and piles on the floor. Now I just have my Kindle and do not need anything else.

I do love books, such as cookbooks, in traditional book form, but any and all other books I get on my Kindle.

Plus no one knows what I'm reading so I no longer get comments about my books. :D :D :D

I have had a Kindle Paper White since January of this year. I really like using my Kindle to read books because it doesn't put strain on my eyes to read it for long periods of time, there are many books instantly available on it for much cheaper than real books, and it's basically a portable library that is extremely light and easy to transport anywhere I go. That's not to say I have replaced hard back books with my Kindle though, I actually switch up between the two regularly. Sometimes it feels a bit harder to get into a Kindle ebook when you aren't reading from real pages, for some reason.

I am someone that did not ever think I could give up holding a book in my hand. A book is my constant companion. I even said to myself, I will never own anything digital to read a book on. My sister bought me a kindle for Christmas. I absolutely love it and would not go back to holding a book in my hand for anything now....never say never.

I just received a Kindle for Mothers Day as I'm running out of room to store my books. I love it and I have purchased several books to read. I've also received my free book from the Kindle Prime library. Now that I have purchased so many books I can't remember which is the free one that I checked out. I can't seem to find a way to distinguish between the free book I checked out and the books I've purchased. Maybe I'm just overlooking something. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks!

So far I love it. I thought I'd miss holding a book but so far so good. I love that I can read in the dark after my husband turns off the lights for bed. The battery life is also amazing.

I am on the verge of getting a kindle, but I am concerned it wont satisfy my love of turning a page. I think I might miss the smell of a new book or the thrill opening the cover.

At first I wasn't to keen on getting a kindle, it's not as satisfying as turning a page, the smell of a new book and completing a large volume book/saga. However, I did get a kindle (paperwhite) for Christmas, so I couldn't really reject the idea of getting one. It is in actual fact quite handy to have- You can store a large variety of books/newspapers, It is easier to read in bed as you don't get a dead arm (of which you would get from holding a book up), you can adjust the font & text, books are sold cheaper for a kindle!, you can change the lighting & position e.g.landscape. Plus many more beneficial edits and changes.
Of course there are disadvantages, three of which I have mentioned above (satisfaction of completing a book , smell of a new book & turning a page) but there are the obvious disadvantages such as the battery life (although is good) it will eventually run out where as a book clearly has no battery so therefore you can read on without a worry. The light after a longer period of time may damage your eyes if you have it too bright. etc . The list could go on! comparing a kindle & a book.

I have the original kindle and a kindle fire. It was tough for me, because I love having a physical book. But it's so nice to have so many books on one device, especially when I go on trips and to always keep in my purse. I still have my physical books to read at home and to keep in my library, but I also love my kindle and all the free ebooks I've been getting :)

I have a Kindle and love it most for traveling. It is perfect for traveling because one can download books and magazines and eliminate all the heavy weight in a carry-on bag. It also allows unlimited reading access during a vacation or business trip, which is especially handy when delays happen! I still love my book collection and will continue to add to it regularly.

I have the Kindle Fire, first edition. I started with Kindle Reader but then liked the Fire when it came out. I gave away the reader which I later regretted. The reader has non-glare screen. Fire, not so lucky. I invested in a few anti-glare screens but none of them work so don't waste your money. Other than that, I'm ok with Fire. I have books accessible at all times and can add to collection quickly. Just don't try to read in the sun. I'm sticking with it. I haven't purchased a paper book in quite some time. I've gotten used to the convenience of e-reader so no more paperback for me. :)

Love my kindle, hope to get a kindle HD soon as mine is getting older and would like to be able to view magazines on it and the kindle touch does not allow.

I have a kindle fire, not the latest version (HD). It is sort of similar to a tablet. However, it is mainly for reading. If you download free books through other sites, the formatting of the book will be kind of messed up. The words might be misspelled at times as well.
I still prefer books, but nowadays, there's less books as ebooks are now cheaper and more available. You also get the ebooks immediately.

I have a Kindle Fire and I love it. I never thought that it could replace actual books but I take it everywhere. You do not have to have a book light to read at night. I was the best birthday present ever!

I have two Kindles. A Kindle DX and a Kindle Fire HD. I absolutely love my Kindle Fire. I still like to have books, because some day I would like to have a mini library in my home. However, the Kindle is so great for on the go. All I need to do is download a few books and take them with me - but not have the extra weight of all those books.
