I have downloaded the Kindle app onto my iPhone and made sure that I have my preferences updated to ensure that I was able to download the book to the app. When I try to download the book, it has me open my app store instead of the kindle app. When I hit the open button in the app store since I already downloaded it nothing happens. Anyone know how I can fix this issue so that I can begin reading this book?!

thank you
@Tgoody53015 Have you already tried the solution in the original post regarding moving the file to the books folder?

What format is it? Maybe you have to convert it to mobi.
It is mobi
Mine did that. Turns out on my computer there were two kindle reading apps and I was using the wrong one. I needed the Kindle for PC app which was different to the kindle app that came with my computer. I then downloaded that from the amazon website.

Hope this helps :?

I think downloading on a laptop works better. Have tried several times on phone it's not really working.

As of August 1st, 2022- Amazon will no longer allow the files of .mobi and .azw to be used in the Kindle App. I received an email stating this.
The compatible formats are
Microsoft Word (.DOC, .DOCX)
HTML (.HTM, .HTML)
RTF (.RTF)
Text (.txt)
JPEG (.JEPEG, .JPG)
GIF (.GIF)
PNG (.PNG)
BMP (.BMP)
PDF (.PDF)
and EPUB (.EPUB)

This applies to the Send to KIndle Email Addres and also for the app.
