Does Kindle Fire have a glare?

Post by becsimpson »

I've heard that Kindle Fires are basically like tablets, and that they still have a screen glare problem when you're trying to read outside in bright light and sunshine. Is that true? Does anyone have any direct experience of this?

I had a Kindle Fire before I lost it. I don't remember any annoying glare. Besides, remember you can easily adjust the settings to be white, sepia, or black. Black makes it easier to read in bright light. Any device will have a glare. In fact the better the screen quality, the more glare there is. But the settings help a lot with the problem of glare.

It does have some glare, but just switching to black with white font makes it easy to read anywhere.

I don't know about the more expensive paperwhite versions, but the cheapest old fashioned screens (I only get the cheapest versions because I am crippled and occasionally run over them in my wheelchair) have no glare at all. I use them to read in bright sunshine here in the high desert of New Mexico.

I don't have a glare on the kindle fire. I bring the fire on trips as it is easy to load with books.
Great for when you are in line or on long trips.

I don't see a glare on my kindle except that the icon has a bright look.

:D I have no issue with glare in my fire and we go to the beach a few times a year so I hope that helps.

Yes, at least my Kindle fire has glare screen. The Kindle Paperwhite is non-glare, but it's good only for reading. I prefer paperwhite for reading and Fire for audio books.

I have a Kindle Fire and I suppose it does have some glare but never having had a Paperwhite, it doesn't bother me.
