Could you hide in a coffin?

I could if I needed to. I think what would bother me the most was if the lid was screwed on, even lightly, like it was in the book. Being trapped inside of something, especially in a dangerous situation, is the part that sounds terrifying. The fact that it's a coffin doesn't really matter to me.

Life has humbled me too many times for me to say I would never. I wouldn't ever want to but if there are some extenuating circumstances that would require it, I can't say that I wouldn't. I can only think of a life or death scenario, since I can't foresee there possibly being another reason. I'm uneasy around dead bodies and anything related to them, so I wouldn't simply be hanging around a place that houses coffins. I would definitely be creeped out.

Certainly not, although in dire situations where life is at stake, we might all find ourselves compelled to do so; however, it's worth mentioning that I've never had the opportunity to be in close proximity to a coffin, to put it mildly.

I'll hide in a coffin, depending on the situation that warrants that. I don't think anything that will make us think of hiding in a coffin will give room for choices, though.

I don't think it would be much different than hiding in a cupboard. At least until the lid was screwed down.

I considered the idea of hiding in a coffin, thinking it might provide an effective way to evade the soldiers since it could be a discreet hiding spot. However, I also realized that if found, escaping would be incredibly challenging since you'd be trapped inside. The thought of them screwing the lids on completely lost me; I don't think I could handle that part at all. It seems like a risky and claustrophobic plan, outweighing the potential benefits of staying hidden.

No way! I don't think I'd ever be okay enough to hide in a coffin. I guess I'd eventually decide to hide in a coffin if it was a matter of life or death. But even then, I'd be very anxious.

I could never hide in a coffin. I'm afraid of small spaces. That's the reason i could never hide in a coffin. I would be really scared of people who do too. It's creepy

I would say yes as long as it isn't occupied with a dead body too. In the case given in the book, there is no question in my mind that I would do it to get out of danger.

If I just thought of it as a wooden box I would be fine. In the book, they fastened the lid closed, and that would make me panic. I would have to completely trust the person on the outside for me to be able to do that.

It was very clever of them to say that the bodies had an infectious disease, otherwise the coffins might have been searched.

I think it totally depends on the situation that I'm in. If it were a Hide or Die situation, I'd literally hide in coffin with a dead body. But if it were like a normal hide and seek sort of thing, I'd most certainly not.

Well depends on the situation. But if I do have a choice I would rather don't hide in such places. Because I'm claustrophobic, so I'll probably die from that before whatever threat I'm hiding from would.
