Several scenes touched me in this book but the one that touched me the most was when Mary Grace realized that her parents are going to be away for two years

The scene I found the most touching was when they were looking for Donny at the zoo. They found him and I nearly teared up at the care and love Mary had for her little brother. It was a great thing to read.

I really liked when Mary was looking for her brother and when she finally saw him she extremely happy and relieved.

Every time Mary Grace looked out for Donny struck a chord with me: When she helped find him in the park, when she put on a brave face for him after their parents broke the news about them moving, when she decided to handle the bully alone without letting Donny know the mean thing that was said about him.

The part when Donny and Mary Grace get Penguin Cones. Donny asks the ice cream maker if she remembers him and she says she does.

The scene that got me so emotional was when the parent broke the news to the kids that they would be leaving to Africa. That actually going to be a big change for everyone. It got me so emotional.
