When I'm depressed I read motivational books and also seek advice from my parents. They make me see the other positive aspects of what's making me depressed. Depression is never advised to be fought alone.

When I'm feeling down, my preference is to be alone. I engage in breathing exercises, tune into self-help podcasts, and dedicate time to reading in my room. I tend not to go out or make plans with others because I require that solitude to recharge before reentering the world. Social interactions can be draining for me, and when I'm dealing with depression, it becomes even more challenging to be social. That's why I grant myself the space and time to heal through solitude.

When I find myself in a state of depression, I turn to prayer and consciously practice gratitude for the present moment. Prayer has a soothing effect on my mind, as it reinforces the idea that there's a higher power overseeing all life events, some of which are beyond our control. Expressing gratitude helps me persuade myself that even in these difficult moments, there's a purpose, and it can ultimately be beneficial.

A quiet walk on the beach, fresh air, or some soul-soothing music lifts my spirits when I'm feeling low.

Sometimes, I find a book and force myself to read it. That way, it can shift my mind away from the problem causing the depression.

I try to think of the best option. I do what I can and try my best not to worry about what I can't control. It puts me at ease.

I have more than one coping mechanism when I am feeling stressed or depressed. My family actually pointed out that I start deep cleaning and organizing when I am particularly stressed about work or family matters.

I also like to go on long walks blasting my favorite music in my earbuds when I am feeling down. Of course, reading a good book can be very therapeutic, especially while eating a delicious baked good with a cup of coffee. Finally, online retail therapy is another favorite coping mechanism.

I enjoy journaling a lot, so that is my usual go-to. I also love to go do some solo activities that I enjoy so that I can feel grounded again.

Music. That’s the best way for me to cope with stress or depression . Or close my eyes and start daydreaming. Works like a charm. Before you know it, I’m in dreamland, and I wake up refreshed as ever.

Engaging in activities I enjoy, talking to supportive friends, and practicing mindfulness are effective coping mechanisms when I experience feelings of depression.

My coping mechanism for depression is to just listen to good music, watch movies, and do lots of exercises. It helps and I like that it doesn't take much from me.

For me, watching the TV show "F.R.I.E.N.D.S" is the one I do when I'm depressed.
