Authors Who Don't Wish To Exchange and Review

Post by Renee Padmore »

Hey there.

I wrote a book 15 years ago which I'm not marketing right now. When asked if I was an author I checked yes, because I am, and found myself being asked to submit a book and being told I can't review normally anymore. I had just submitted my first review at that point.

Am I to understand that writing a book 15 years ago automatically disqualifies me from being paid to write reviews like a person who has not written a book?

Can authors who don't wish to exchange books go back to regular reviews?

Once an author, always an author. I think a distinction needs to be made between authors who have a current book and wish to exchange for review and those who have written books in the past and don't.

Any clarity given on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out. I am sorry for the delayed response. May I know, if your book was published?

Please let me know if you have any other questions. Have a great day.

Thank you.
