UK Amazon rather than US Amazon

Post by JoW »

Hi,
I've been sent through Books of the Day to purchase, but unfortunately I am unable to download the books from US Amazon as I live in the UK. I can download on UK Amazon but may not necessarily be able to access the offers.
Just wanted to mention this.

Hi, you can still purchase Kindle books from the .com version of Amazon even if you are in non-USA locations such as the UK. It's not inconvenient, and so I'm sorry about that. You need to have an account on .com version of Amazon and need to set it as default, I believe.

I know what you are talking about. I had a US Amazon account but I live in Japan, and it all depends on which countries hold the copyrights to the books. Or something like that. I couldn't always get the free books even if they were free in the US even though I was buying them from the US site. On the bright side, I just moved to the US, so now I don't have that problem. Haha.

Here are the instructions for buying Kindle books from the .com version of Amazon no matter where you live or what version of Amazon you usually use: http://forums.onlinebookclub.org/viewto ... 28&t=37789
