The wording on publisher's page
I just added a publisher to one of my read books, and out of curiosity followed the link to see if there were more books. I find that, only having one book, the page reads:
"None of the books marked as published by Gedisa have any ratings. This is not a good sign. You may want to avoid reading books published by Gedisa until some of their books have some good reliable ratings."
Isn't that a bit catch-22ish?
I know it's not forcing you to avoid the books, but by discouraging people to get them (and thus leave reviews), the books might never get reviews...
I mean, it's not a big deal, but... could it maybe be worded differently?

Reviews aren't based on prior ratings. Authors pay the OBC to have reviewers review their books.WhiteLotus wrote: ↑17 Jun 2019, 06:34 Hi,

Pardon, I meant ratings in both instances, not reviews. I don't know where my head was at.CatInTheHat wrote: ↑17 Jun 2019, 08:36 Reviews aren't based on prior ratings. Authors pay the OBC to have reviewers review their books.
All the same, it seems to me if you discourage people to read books just because of a lack of ratings (or reviews, paid or not), then said books won't as easily get ratings (or non-paid reviews).
Anyway, it's not a big deal, I just thought it was a bit odd to discourage people to take a chance on books just because it's lacking ratings.

I've never clicked on the publisher link before. Never even occurred to me to try.
It does seem a little weird, considering the pro-indie aspect of the site.
What is grief, if not love persevering?
Grief is just love with no place to go.

Yes, if OBC is pro-indie, I wonder why that should be there or how it can be improved.
I've also never clicked on the publisher link before. I'll check it out soon.
