Editing the Title of a Book in Private Review Team Forum

I just submitted a review with an extremely long title. There is the main short title, and then a colon with a further subtitle. After posting the review to the Private Review Team forum, I noticed that the end of the subtitle, as well as the author's name, got cut off due to the overly long length of the subtitle. Whew, that was a long explanation Anyway, I just edited the title after posting, by cutting out the subtitle. This way the author's name can be seen in the title. Is it acceptable to edit my post for this reason?

I don't think you need to worry about it. I had the same thing happen to me before! Scott will fix it when he "publishes" the review and moves it to the correct subforum.

I also kind of think that in the case of a long title, they prefer to have the whole title's name there and let the author's name get cut off. Also happened to me before. No worries!

Thanks for the advice. In this case, the title was short, but with a colon and added "subtitle". Not sure if the subtitle is even considered part of the title. You're probably right, Scott will fix it, if necessary, when it's ready for publication.

I know I once didn't put the colon with the subtitle, but it was later added on when moved around. So you probably did it the right way like you did!

It is fine. You can put the subtitle in the review itself by the way.

I always overwrite the titles when I publish the reviews using the information from the database, so what you put in the title field in the private review team doesn't matter.

Thanks Scott! As I mentioned, the title is not incorrect. I just left off the fuller title after the colon. I thought it was more important to keep the author's name in the title field. Glad to hear you overwrite the titles using the info from the database.
