Grammar rules (Resolved)

Post by Lauren Gallagher 2 »

Please can I have a clear set of grammar rules for my reviews to abide by.
I'm being marked down for objective 'errors'.
I have a degree in English. I know my writing style is nuanced - all of my graded assignments came back with feedback that the tutor enjoyed my nuanced style, however, the editors here do not appreciate it. I have posted in the International Grammar Forum for advice and the responses to my posts all say that the errors I'm marked down for are not grammatically incorrect, just writing preference.
I have noticed on the forums that a large proportion of reviewers are finding the same thing, therefore, a clear guideline would undoubtedly help.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Thank you for the suggestion. However, I'm not sure it's possible to compile every grammar rule here. If an editor marked your review and you do not agree with a scorecard, you can appeal the scorecard, making sure to mention why you think you are right. Adding external links to sites that support your points will also help your case. I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Insofar as the word 'should' even has meaning, then we must say that the past is exactly as it should be, everything that happened should have happened, and everything that should happen will happen
