Have no idea what this means or how it is more than -2. Suggestion. Be a bit more helpful for new members.

Hi,Kaitlyn Wadsworth wrote: ↑01 Jul 2023, 20:25 I am new here. I have almost finished reading my first book for review and I AM ON TRACK. I have taken notes to enable me to write a detailed review. I have not missed an update. The only thing I have been reminded about is that the book I downloaded needed to clicked that I had received it. When I downloaded it I opened it fine. So then a penalty and reminder about the click I forgot to do. Then I had to say that I couldn't open it any longer. Turned out that I had the same problem with the next download. So I (with limited technological expertise) fiddled around until I figured out the problem myself. I had to select the App to open it with on my PC. So I needn't have downloaded another copy and been reminded not to make any more mistakes. This is vey disheartening. How on earth did I end up -4? How is this supposed to be read?

Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry about this. The email reminders about updating the book will cause point deductions. If you have any other concerns, please let me know.
I'm wishing you a great day.

I had not been in this website at all when I clicked that I would do three reviews in 100 days, three posts a day, plus enter the Book of the Day competition, every day or else.. I struggled to find where I could and couldn't post. I couldn't start reading the downloaded book and yesterday I struggled to read the BOTD even in part. A reviewer was needed! How could I sign up for that when the book I have chosen to review is stretching the max of my abilities (heavy on philosophy and it defies belonging to a specific genre.) Certainly can't review another at the same time albeit an easier book to read. Means I had to buy it and I don't know how to use my kindle.
A list of how a newbie will get points deducted would help. I know the information is there scattered about in small print but at a start point when so much needs to be learned about the site, I sympathize with many of the problems others have had. I have read about them now. Getting points deducted and feeling perplexed about it is one of them.

Thanks for the reply. Those deductions will go away the more you make reviews.
