Hope can never be overplayed, it's the only thing we have to cling onto and as long as we acknowledge the importance of hope in our lives the difficulties lessen.

I believe the role of hope was perfectly played in the book, not overplayed. The fact that the author backed the information in the book with scientific proof and research helps solidify my belief that the role of hope was perfectly played.

I did not feel like the role of hope was overemphasized or overplayed. Instead, I appreciated the numerous theories, statements, and all. The book was really informative and I learned so many things from it. So to answer your question, no it was not overplayed.

I do not think that hope is overplayed in the book. In a world that we live in now, we surely need hope to have the strength to carry on. Without hope, we will give up on life. Hope is what keeps us going every day and what makes us get out of bed every day.

I don't believe the significance of hope has been overstated in this book. Allow me to illustrate with an example from my family's experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. I observed that those who were fearful of COVID were the ones who ultimately succumbed to the illness, while those who maintained hope and faith managed to survive. Can we posit that hope played a pivotal role in some individuals overcoming COVID, while a lack of hope contributed to the demise of others? Another noteworthy observation in my family's context is that a majority of the individuals who passed away were men, which I attribute, in part, to a diminished sense of hope among them. This is merely my perspective, but it reinforces the idea that hope is an essential factor for survival and cannot be overstated.

When I first started reading, I would have said yes, 'hope' is being overplayed. On reflection, however, like all things in life, something has to be repeated to be learnt. Dr Ross has packed a lot into this facet, and we take away a lot from it. We learn how important it is, and it's something that must be learned to reach its full potential.

This approach allows the theme to organically contribute to the characters' development, making the overall impact more profound and relatable. If the theme is skillfully handled, readers can connect with the encouragement aspect on a personal level, fostering a deeper engagement with the narrative.

I appreciate and value the author's view on how significantly hope influences happiness.
I have never considered hope as a strategy, ever.

I like his approach of viewing hope as a strategy. I feel it's quite brilliant 👏

I enjoyed the stories ( impacting business/ people and himself), quotes, and theoretical substantiations pointing to the role of hope in weathering life's storms while cultivating authentic happiness.

The chapter " Reverse Engineering Hope", further provides a significant elaboration on hope in terms of its comprising components, a summary in simple terms, derived from " decades of scientific research ".

When I go to sleep at night, I hope to wake up to my family and home and life activities.
I do not have absolute control of this but I hope and have strategies about how I can achieve certain things ( my own goals), the food we eat and prepare, health/fitness/ work/ relationship goals, running of routine basic necessities, creative projects, and entertainment.

If it were not for the hope of waking up, I would not strategize and prepare for these things as I would leave it and live day to day expecting it to genuinely be my last ( why bother?).

Understanding hope as a strategy ( from the perspective of Dr.Randy Ross), I have the power to intentionally and strategically use hope ( the components= formula provided) day to day, even when things drastically change from one moment to the next, this awareness and the hope formula now becomes a tool I actively utilize in navigating, calmly forward.

Not necessarily overplayed. But to.an extent. We should find a way to turn some things down. Because the more we talk about them. The more we give them strength.

I don’t think hope was overexaggerated in this book, because as humans, hope is what keeps us pushing. So it's important to keep our hope alive for a better life.

It was not overplayed at all. I think that it was represented perfectly. It made the readers see the meaning of hope. I love the author's approach.
