At first, it was hard to keep reading because i wasn't feeling the whole thing. I didn't know it will get so interesting at some point.

As of now, I am reading this book. After I concluded reading the first chapter I thought "The Great Migration" by Steve Ramirez was all about people who with the help of Zuni Guides explore the kingdom with its challenges. But I think it (the migration)now means more than that. This journey may vary from person to person.
Cortez, the king got the information that it was about the way the brontotheres move. They move around in a circular loop across the valley. And people expect different things from the valley.
Lacey didn't want to end up like her father. She wanted to migrate, to know more, to take risks, rather than waste time thinking about what to eat, and when to sleep.
So my first impression of this book is that this book has content related to traveling and exploring. And my guess was somehow in some manner similar to the idea of this novel. But I want to keep on reading it to know more about it's climax.

For me, the book initially conveyed a fantasy-world setting. The depiction of the battle scene and its aftermath offered an immersive experience. It was a compelling and well-executed start. Overall, it was a good first impression.

I'm not very far into the book, but I am impressed so far. The characterizations are done well and the author provides enough description that I can immerse myself in this new world. Those are two of the things that I really expect from a book like this. I can't wait until I have some more time to read further! Especially since so many of these comments hint that the "migration" is not what is expected!

I was intrigued by the idea of a Zuni guide leading his team on an expedition through the Thunder Valley for the great migration. The female protagonist, Bellona, drew my attention throughout the story. Also, the idea of Luta, Bellona, and other team members fighting against the country's negative forces captured my attention. The theme of story of adventure and survival appealed to me.

At first, seeing the book's cover I thought this book was just maybe a romance novel because the cover was eye-catching. When I read a few pages of the book, I thought it was about animals and battles but then when I proceeded, I discovered that it was science fiction.

I did not think this would be a sci-fi book at all. The cover and even the first few pages made it see like this could be some kind of historical fiction. But I was hooked from the first page - I loved that we started the story right in the middle of the action. I do think the next few chapters fell a little flat for me. It was only when the young prince and his tutor found themselves in the middle of a s'orne attack, that I found myself intrigued with the story again. By the time I got to the last few chapters, I couldn't put the book down.

Yes, the beginning of the story moved rather quickly, but you soon realise that it wasn't really the major focus. Upon reading it, I initially believed that Thunder Valley and those animals were the main subjects. I made a mistaken estimate.

I had a tough time processing the jumps to different POVs and figuring out what part of the city the specific characters were from. Once I got over the initial confusion, I was so engrossed I couldn't put it down.
It's incredible how a story can initially overwhelm but then completely captivate. I also had a similar experience with this book. Good to know that I am not the only one :D .

It sounds like the story took an unexpected turn, moving beyond the initial fast-paced introduction to explore different elements. The unpredictability and depth in storytelling can be both intriguing and challenging for readers. If you have specific aspects or themes from the story you'd like to discuss or share your thoughts on, feel free to let me know.

My first impression, on reading the first chapter was that the book seemed rather 'young' for me. I don't usually pick up this type of book. I must say though, that the book did 'grow' on me.

The beginning of the book was quite disturbing, because of the murders that took place. However, as I delved deep, I got hooked on the interesting plot and characters.

I enjoyed the the beginning of this novel. It immediately grabbed my attention because of the action. I really liked how the author was able to just throw me into the story and not be confused.
