I liked the ending. It definitely left me with a lot of questions, especially about the King's son and the missing prince. I feel like it left me wanting more and with enough curiosity to want to read the rest of the series.

As the start of a series, the book has to have a satisfactory ending yet it must leave open questions for a sequel. It is not easy to write such an ending without leaving the readers disappointed with a major cliffhanger. Yet there must remain enough suspense for the readers wanting more. The author did an amazing job in this book. Readers will definitely be looking for more to read to find out about the missing prince and other answers.

The ending of the book was bittersweet, but good. I am curious about the plotline involving King Cortez, Dorinda, and Prince Samael. The book was well-written and had a satisfying ending, but the author still left some questions unanswered, which makes me want to read the next book.

This was my impression as well, actually! The plotlines aren't all resolved but it remains a legitimate ending.
The ending felt really open, but in a satisfying way. Creates a lot of world building doors to be open by other upcoming works (I wonder if there's fanfics about it out there, I'll have to check).

I believe there's still more to come in this story. I'll love to see how Bellona fulfills Luta's dying wish. So, the ending left me with anticipation of what will come next.

As the first book of a series, the ending was well thought through. It left enough unanswered questions to inspire the reader to read the next book but also didn't leave the reader hanging with unresolved questions about the main characters in this book. Even the destiny of Scout was satisfactorily resolved, hence all the animal lovers should have been happy.

It's clearly an open ending, so you know that you need to go on with this series to finish the bigger story and get (I hope) all the answers. However, it's not the kind of annoying cliffhanger that can be a problem if the sequel wasn't published yet. I'm glad the author made this choice.

I’m not done with it yet, but I’m still trying to figure out how Bellona and Lita connects with King Cortez and his worries, and the S’orne. It isn’t clear just yet.

What did you think of the ending?
The ending left much to be anticipated in the second volume, especially on whether Bellona and Keldiari managed to get to the Thunder Valley, where the Nayastraki lived. Additionally, how were they received, considering the rules forbid Bellona from going there and needed Teyka to write a letter explaining the special circumstances that necessitated Bellona's access to Keldiari's new home? Did the s'orne attack other cities? There was also the issue about the success of Laena's personal classes with Dorinda and whether she earned her pay. These issues are what I expect the next installment to address.

Besides the fact that I was left with a lot of questions, I can understand these questions are to be answered in the next book. I really want to know if Bellona was successful or if there was another obstacle put in her way.
